The new SCOTT Spark RC is now a reality. Although the brand officially presented it this week, the SCOTT-SRAM MTB Racing Team riders have been competing on it for months. In fact, the new generation of the Spark RC made a discreet debut in the first two rounds of the 2026 XCO World Cup, first in South Korea and then in Nové Město, where Filippo Colombo already managed to reach the podium with a bike that was still under a camouflaged design.

This is the SCOTT Spark RC 2027 with which Filippo Colombo has already reached the podium of the World Cup

Now, at the World Cup in Leogang, we have been able to see for the first time all the details and aesthetics of the bike that its riders will officially use for the rest of the season. A frame that represents a profound evolution of one of the most successful models in modern cross-country and has already demonstrated its potential at the highest competitive level.

The new Spark RC has been developed to meet the current demands of the XCO World Cup, where the circuits are becoming faster, more technical, and physically more demanding. Explosive starts, very steep climbs, trail-like descents, and constant changes of pace force the bikes to offer a perfect balance between efficiency and control.

To achieve this, SCOTT has maintained its philosophy of integrated suspension but has completely redesigned the platform. The main novelty is the new rear suspension system with a pivot concentric to the bottom bracket and a completely revised kinematics. The goal is to improve sensitivity, increase the stability of the assembly, and reduce energy losses during pedaling.

The bike retains the shock hidden inside the frame, one of the most characteristic elements of the Spark family, but incorporates a completely new architecture that also minimizes the structural flex needed in the swingarm and optimizes the operation of the entire suspension.

The result is a bike that is more precise, more stable in technical areas, and capable of maintaining high efficiency when the race demands constant acceleration.

Filippo Colombo has already taken it to the podium in Nové Město and has done so again in the XCC of Leogang

Although the official presentation has just taken place, the new Spark RC already knows what it is like to reach a World Cup podium.

The Swiss Filippo Colombo was one of the first riders to compete with it during the tests in South Korea and later in Nové Město, where he achieved a notable third position in the men's XCO event.

Now, in Leogang, both Colombo and the rest of the SCOTT-SRAM MTB Racing Team members are facing the competition weekend officially using the new platform. And the Swiss has already taken it to the podium again with his second position in the Short Track.

Colombo himself recently explained the importance of having a competitive bike in the current landscape of world cross-country:

“XC races are getting faster and more technical every year, so having a fast and efficient bike is extremely important for us.”
