New, better, and cheaper: SCOTT upgrades its top-of-the-line XC shoes in a big way
The presentation of the new SCOTT Spark 2027 has captured a lot of attention, but alongside it, they launched a new Racing Concept (RC) collection of gear. Among all the new features, one of the most interesting updates has gone relatively unnoticed: the new generation of SCOTT MTB RC Ultimate shoes, the top-of-the-line model for XC.
The new SCOTT MTB RC Ultimate shoes arrive lighter, redesigned, and with an unexpected price drop of 100 euros
This is the most advanced model in SCOTT's mountain shoe range, specifically designed for competitive cross-country, although due to its level of stiffness and performance, it also fits perfectly in high-performance gravel. It comes with a weight reduction, a completely renewed design, and a significant price drop.
Completely renewed and 100 euros cheaper than the previous generation
In a market where competition shoes tend to become more expensive with each new generation, SCOTT has opted for an unusual strategy. The new MTB RC Ultimate shoes come to market with an official price of 349.90 euros, a figure that represents a reduction of 100 euros compared to the previous model, which was sold for 449 euros.
Visually, the new MTB RC Ultimate shoes have practically nothing in common with the previous generation. SCOTT has opted for a much cleaner and more minimalist aesthetic, with a simplified exterior construction and a more elegant integration of the adjustment systems.

This not only has an aesthetic function but also aims directly at a better fit and greater durability. The upper now has fewer parts and joints, which ensures fewer weak points, and its design better hugs the foot for a more natural fit.
The shoe is initially offered in white and maintains the brand's Racing Concept philosophy, developed to provide maximum performance possible in competition.
Its Racing Fit last continues to focus on a snug and low-volume fit, designed for cyclists seeking a very direct connection between the foot and the bike, minimizing internal movements during high-intensity efforts.
Carbon midsole and maximum stiffness for competition
The technical core of the new MTB RC Ultimate shoes remains their power transfer structure. The shoe uses a carbon fiber midsole and achieves a stiffness index of 10, the highest rating used by SCOTT.

This level of stiffness aims to minimize any energy loss during pedaling, which is especially important in disciplines like modern Olympic XC, where constant accelerations and changes in pace are decisive.
The construction combines:
- Carbon fiber midsole.
- Polyamide and EVA sole.
- Nitrile rubber (NBR) outsole.
- Upper made of polyurethane and polyester.
The result is a shoe clearly oriented towards mechanical efficiency, prioritizing power transfer without sacrificing grip when it is necessary to put a foot down.
BOA Li2 system and customizable fit
For the closure, SCOTT uses the BOA Li2 system, one of the most advanced mechanisms from the company specialized in adjustment systems.
This system allows for extremely precise micro-adjustments even while on the move, offering quick and uniform pressure regulation over the instep.
The flexible polyurethane upper aims to complement this system by adapting to the shape of the foot to improve comfort without compromising support.
ErgoLogic insole with customizable arch support
Another highlighted element is the incorporation of the adjustable ErgoLogic insole.
This system allows for adapting the arch support and metatarsal area to the specific needs of each cyclist, improving both comfort and stability during prolonged efforts.
The possibility of customization is especially relevant in such rigid competition shoes, where small changes in pressure distribution can make a significant difference in terms of comfort.
Ready for modern XC circuits and competitive gravel
Although SCOTT officially presents them as MTB shoes, their features make them a perfectly valid option for competitive gravel.
Compatibility with two-bolt cleats, the high stiffness of the sole, low weight, and the ability to walk with some security thanks to the nitrile rubber fit perfectly with the current demands of the fastest gravel races.
With this new generation, SCOTT has not only updated its flagship XC shoe but has achieved something unusual in the current market: improving performance, reducing weight, and lowering the price at the same time. A combination that makes them one of the most interesting proposals within the premium competition shoe segment.
