How the new Trek Supercaliber 2's IsoTrust works
A few weeks ago, Trek revamped its XC flagship with the Supercaliber Gen 2. This full suspension mountain bike opened in 2020 with a lightweight, efficient and fully integrated rear shock system, the IsoTrust. A system that is now renewed with more travel, more stiffness and better power transfer.
This is how the new IsoTrust of the Trek Supercaliber 2 works
At first glance, the new Trek Supercaliber Gen 2 does not seem very different from its first version, but the truth is that it comes with very important new features that have updated the model in depth. At the heart of all this renewal is the new RockShox SID Luxe shock, developed specifically for Trek's original IsoTrust system.

We remind you that Trek's own rear suspension system dispenses with linkages and moving parts (it is the tie rods that bend on a vertical axis) and makes the shock absorber work as a structural part of the frame. This maintains the efficiency of a rigid frame, but adds the traction and absorption of a rear suspension.
In this new Supercaliber 2, RockShox has developed a new specific shock (you can not put any other, nor the shock fits any other bike) with more travel, up to 80mm, but also improves the system. The shock is more compact, anchored with a central and vertical bolt, and encapsulated in a structure that allows extension and compression as if it were inside the top tube.
By being more compact, eliminating hardware and improving its integration with the structure, it has been possible to optimize the stiffness of the Supercaliber and eliminate torsion. This translates into better power transmission.
The RockShox SidLuxe Isotrust is as configurable as any shock and in addition to being able to adjust the pressure with a pump or rebound via its external roulette, it can be locked remotely from the handlebars.
The new IsoTrust is Trek's way of defining its path in XC, moving away from the new trends closer to trail and betting on an efficient and lightweight XC.
