Will be Tom Pidcock and Nino Schurter teammates at SCOTT SRAM?
It was right after winning the Olympic gold in MTB, last August in Paris, when we first heard rumors of a possible team change for Tom Pidcock. Now his signing with the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team has been made official, but the rumors continue. Could we see him competing in MTB with SCOTT SRAM?
Tom Pidcock and Nino Schurter could be teammates
The British rider has been combining cyclocross, road, and mountain bike for several years in the same season, and it seems that was one of the reasons for his differences with the INEOS team. Pidcock himself announced a few weeks ago that in 2025 he could change his focus to dedicate himself solely to the road, but that was just before signing with his new team where he seems to have regained another spirit.
Although the owner of the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team is also a part owner of Pinarello, the team's main technical partner is SCOTT and in fact, it was the bike brand that announced Pidcock's signing. In that same statement, SCOTT revealed that he will ride SCOTT road bikes and Syncros components, specifically the Foil RC, Plasma RC TT models, and the new Addict RC.
During his presentation, no mention was made of other disciplines, but we understand that if Pidcock decides to compete in cyclocross or MTB in 2025, he will also do so with the support of SCOTT. In fact, we have a direct precedent.

The Swiss rider Filippo Colombo made a similar move in 2022 when he left the BMC mountain bike team to announce that he would compete with the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team on the road and with SCOTT SRAM in the XCO World Cup.
With that precedent and the belief that Pidcock will find it hard to resist competing in mountain bike, we have time to dream of seeing the double Olympic champion as Nino Schurter's teammate in SCOTT SRAM.
