Van der Poel reschedules his calendar: only one MTB race and no gravel events
After winning the Road World Championships, his MTB World Championship crash and securing an Olympic place for the Netherlands thanks to the role of U23 Tom Schellekens, Mathieu van der Poel has presented what will be his calendar between now and October. The road is still the protagonist, he will not repeat in the World Gravel Championship and we will only see him on a MTB at the Olympic test in September.
Van der Poel presents his calendar until October
The Alpecin Deceunick announced on its social networks what will be the calendar of the new World Champion for the months of September and October. A calendar designed to suit the qualities of the Dutchman and in which he will be able to show off and enjoy his newly won rainbow jersey.
After securing an Olympic place in the mountain bike event for Paris 2024, thanks to the position of his under-23 compatriot Tom Schellekens in the last World Championships, Van der Poel was no longer obliged to be in the remaining XCO World Cup events this year. So he has decided to prioritize the road, not to repeat in the Gravel World Championship, where he finished third last year, and we will only see him on his Canyon Lux CFR on September 23 for the Olympic test in Paris.
