Pauline Ferrand-Prevot skips the French Championship to win in Switzerland
This weekend the prestigious Swiss championship ÖKK Bike Revolution started in the town of Chur, the same town where Nino Schurter resides and where he himself designed the course for this race. There, French rider Pauline Ferrand Prevot and Swiss rider Lars Forster took the victory.
Pauline Ferrand Prevot and Lars Forster win the ÖKK Bike Revolution in Chur
The Swiss championship ÖKK Bike Revolution has earned an important place in the international calendar, but unlike 2023, this edition saw its list of favorites diminished due to the French Championship being held the same weekend and just one week after the World Cup in Brazil. Nevertheless, it maintained the level expected of a top-level race.
In the women's race, the presence of the world champion Pauline Ferrand-Prevot (INEOS Grenadiers) was surprising, as she decided to skip the two World Cup races in Brazil and also the French Championship to compete in Chur. There, the French rider dominated the race and took the victory with over 1 minute advantage over Swiss rider Alessandra Keller (Thomus Maxon). The podium was completed by Swiss rider Seraina Leugger (Bixs).

The men's race was marked by a flat tire for local star and 10-time world champion Nino Schurter. This incident took him out of contention for the win, but after the race, the leader of SCOTT SRAM confirmed that his good sensations had returned after the races in Brazil and he felt he had the legs to win. Instead, it was his former teammate Lars Forster (Thomus Maxon) who did not disappoint, taking the victory by sprinting ahead of his compatriot Luca Schatti. The all-Swiss podium was completed by Fabio Puntener.
