New Mondraker Raze: the best of XC and Enduro

Fun is in the DNA of the Alicante-based Mondraker brand and that is exactly what drives them to develop new models with which to enjoy the mountain. The Mondraker Raze arrives in the brand's 2022 catalogue in response to current trends that are looking for a bike that combines the best of XC and Enduro in the same mountain bike.

For some years now the lines between the different types of mountain biking have been fading, mountain bikers want a bike that allows them to climb as agile as XC and descend as any Enduro bike would allow. This has resulted in manufacturers having to push the limits of their current models in two opposite directions or introduce new models. The latter is the case with the new Mondraker Raze, which with its carbon frame, 150 and 130 mm travel, and specific geometry and kinematics is presented as a bike that will allow you to push yourself on cross country rides with your group or have fun at the Bike Park at the weekend.

According to the brand, even they themselves were shocked by the performance of the new Mondraker Raze when it was premiered at the Sölden Bike Park in Austria. Therefore, it's difficult to classify it as a trail bike in the conventional way. It may seem too aggressive for XC, but it can climb at the same pace as a specific trail bike, or too light for Enduro, but its geometry is almost identical to Mondraker's flagship Foxy All Mountain model.

Following Mondraker's own FORWARD GEOMETRY concept, the Raze has been specifically adapted for Trail use with Enduro aspirations, compensating all dimensions for optimal position and balance of measurements for the most versatile use. Its 65.5° steering angle and 76.5° saddle angle with a wide reach offer great balance with a Trail focus.

Mondraker insist that you shouldn't go by the numbers on this bike, as the Mondraker Raze has 150mm of travel at the front and 130mm at the rear, but its functionality is not determined by the travel and the travel doesn't seem to detract from its uphill or downhill capabilities.

Its frame has been manufactured using the latest generation STEALTH AIR FULL CARBON technology, which reduces the weight of the frame without shock absorber to just 2 kg. And thanks to the ZERO SUSPENSION SYSTEM rear suspension, with a double linkage, the best balance between pedalling capacity and absorption is achieved. In addition, on the Raze, the lower link has been renewed to increase the stiffness of the assembly. 

Drawing on its experience with the F-Podium, an XC-specific model, and the Foxy Carbon for Enduro, Mondraker has created a specific Trail kinematic and a FOX suspension set-up for efficient pedalling and sensitivity, absorption and poise on descents on the Raze.
