Nino Schurter on the 2024 Paris Olympic Games: "If I see I can't reach anymore where I love to be, then I probably give the possibility to another Swiss rider"
The 10 times World Champion Nino Schurter has been this week's guest on the podcast that SRAM broadcasts on its Youtube channel: The Changing Gears. A talk of almost 40 minutes in which Nino has reviewed his entire career, with some very personal questions, and in which he gives some interesting information that some of us did not know.
Nino Schurter looks back on his career in the SRAM Podcast
During this extensive and relaxed interview, Nino talks about his entire career since his childhood. From his beginnings in an alpine ski club, where he was proposed to run a mountain bike competition taking advantage of the summer season and there he won his first race at the age of 7 years old. To his near future, where we were surprised to hear him say that he does not rule out the option of not going to the Olympic Games in Paris.
"I'm not the youngest anymore, at Worlds (Les Gets) this year I was the third oldest rider in the field." "If everything goes well and I'm still feeling I have the chance to maybe win another medal, for sure, I want to try another Olympics. But, If I see I can't reach anymore where I love to be, then I probably give the possibility to another Swiss rider because it's really hard to get the spot now, it's just two riders per nation."
