What happened in the last race and how is the overall ranking?
The World Cup packs its bags to the New World after leaving the Old Continent with the last event in Les Gets. The French event was fortunate to see Koretzky triumph, who dressed as a local hero to take the victory in both the XCC on Friday and the XCO on Sunday. Special mention must go to Schurter, who after a flat tyre was able to finish second. Dascalu and Guerrini came after him and snatched third place from a combative Dubau, who gave his all from the start but was finally weak in the end.
Nino Schurter is the overall leader but the fight for the coveted cup is still open with only two races to go. His compatriot Fluckiger is just behind, while Schwarzbauer is using his XCC points to take third place. Sarrou and Griot are a little further behind, while Forster, Hatherly and company follow them on the list.
- Nino Schurter 1198 points
- Mathias Fluckiger 1100 points
- Luca Schwarzbauer 1073 points
- Jordan Sarrou 1029 points
- Thomas Griot 940 points
- Joshua Dubau 889 points
- Lars Forster 887 points
- Alan Hatherly 844 points
- Vlad Dascalu 745 points
- Martins Blums 702 points
In the women's category, Mona Mitterwallner scored her second consecutive victory after the one in Andorra. The Austrian has taken a good haul of points since the summer break, which puts her second overall behind Pieterse, who is on course for the final victory. Ferrand-Prevot refuses to give up despite having already lost a lot of ground.
- Puck Pieterse 1546 points
- Mona Mitterwallner 1225 points
- Pauline Ferrand-Prevot 1157 points
- Alessandra Keller 1072 points
- Loana Lecomte 973 points
- Anne Terpstra 941 points
- Martina Berta 925 points
- Evie Richards 916 points
- Laura Stigger 901 points
- Jenny Rissveds 860 points
Pidcock, Koretzky, Schurter, Valero and Blevins are the favorites
The United States will host a new round of the XCO World Cup. As usual, the victory will be hard and whoever wants to raise his arms to the sky of Snowshoe will have to sweat it out to overcome the cast of candidates who are postulated as the rivals to beat.
Pidcock's return to competition always shakes up the status quo on the grid. The British rider always starts as one of the favorites. Without thinking about the general classification - eighteenth with 516 points - he will do his best to get on the top of the podium after a third place in Andorra and while the controversy of the Glasgow World Championship is still hanging over his head.
Schurter is on a roll, he's first overall and he's Schurter. He should be among the top contenders for the victory and, although his status as leader may make him run with the calculator in hand, his great form is a good argument to think that he will go all out.
Koretzky comes from winning the XCO Paris 2024 Test Event, the XCC and the XCO of Les Gets. The Frenchman is in an excellent moment of the season and will try to take advantage of it to extend the good results and climb positions in the overall classification. David Valero is another of the best cards in the deck. His victory in Snowshoe last year in dantesque conditions makes us confident that the Spaniard will be able to play a great role on Sunday.
For his part, Blevins is also another name to keep in mind, as the American usually has good races in American territory. Schwarzbauer, Dubau, Dascalu and Sarrou are some other riders who could also perform well.
Lecomte, Mitterwallner, Pieterse, Ferrand-Prevot and the Americans Gibson and Batten are among the leading contenders
Predictions are also a coin toss in the women's category. Even so, it is possible to point out a group of favorites who, barring unexpected surprises, will be in the fight to cross the finish line in first place.
Loana Lecomte's victory at the XCO Test Event in Paris is the best letter of introduction for a rider who wants to finish the season with the same sensations she started it with. For her part, Mitterwallner wants to continue her streak; the overall is still far away, although any remote option for the Austrian is to finish on top this weekend.
Pieterse is the overall leader and although she has had some dips in her performance, the Dutchwoman dominates the table with an iron fist. The incombustible Ferrand-Prevot will be back in the ring to continue scoring points and look for a victory that has eluded her this season.
The Americans Gibson and Batten will have an extra point of motivation when racing at home, especially Haley, who will return to race on home soil after several months out of competition due to a concussion.
