Loana Lecomte with authority and Victor Koretzky in sprint win the XCO Paris 2024 Test Event

Total victory for France in Paris. Loana Lecomte in women and Victor Koretzky in men have won the two races of the Paris 2024 XCO Test Event. A preview that we will see if it is a premonition of what will happen in a year's time at the Olympic Games.

The women's race was marked by the battle between Switzerland's Alessandra Keller and France's Loana Lecomte for first place for part of the race, but Keller gave way due to technical problems and it was then that Lecomte took off for the solo victory.

Loana Lecomte won with a time of 1:12:49. The Austrian Laura Stigger was second at 39 seconds and the podium was closed by the world champion Pauline Ferrand Prevot at 56 seconds. One of the surprises was to see in positions and times more delayed to great favorites, as the Dutch Puck Pieterse who finished 9th at more than 2 minutes or the Austrian Mona Mitterwallner who finished in the 13th position over 3 minutes.

In the men's race, the victory was more closely contested thanks to a generous group that remained compact for much of the race. It included France's Jordan Sarrou, Victor Koretzky and Adrien Boichis, Switzerland's Nino Schurter, Italy's Luca Braidot and New Zealand's Anton Cooper.

It was on the finishing straight that Victor Koretsky won by the narrowest of margins over a surprising Anton Cooper, who seems to be back to his best form, with Nino Schurter closing the podium after a very solid race in which a certain control or reserve for the last races of the season could be sensed.

As in the women's race, it was surprising to see big names such as Sam Gaze, Mathieu van der Poel and Tom Pidcock in distant positions, 27th, 28th and 35th respectively.
