The Swiss cyclist Filippo Colombo has just announced on his social networks that a hard crash in the cobblestone section of Arenberg, in the last Paris Roubaix, caused several fractures in his left elbow. After undergoing surgery, he is already in recovery mode, but he does not know when he will be able to race again.

Colombo has been one of the most talked-about signings of the year after joining SCOTT SRAM as Nino Schurter's teammate. But he also joined the road cycling team Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team with which he intends to combine both modalities and with whom he went to the last Paris Roubaix, where the accident occurred.

This is how he communicated his injury on social networks:

"Sad news to share. On Sunday during Paris-Roubaix I crashed violently in the Arenberg cobblestones sector, sustaining several fractures in my left elbow.
Yesterday evening I had surgery and everything seems to be going in the right direction.
We don’t know exactly how long will it take to come back to racing, but my mind is already geared toward recovery, and I am sure I will return stronger than before."

This injury leaves in the air his presence in the first round of the World Cup that will be next May 12-14 in Nove Mesto, and we will see what happens with the next appointments.
