Evie Richards is recovering from a concussion caused by a fall at the Araxá World Cup
The British rider Evie Richards started this season in the best possible way with a victory in the Short Track at the opening round of the World Cup in Mairipora. A week later, it was time for the Araxá race, and she was fighting for the podium in the XCC race on Saturday when she had a hard fall on the last lap.
The accident didn't seem to have caused her more than a few scratches and bruises, but the British rider explained that she felt very nervous during the descents in the XCO race on Sunday and noticed that her body was also sore.

Now Richards has made it public that since then she has been experiencing the symptoms of a concussion and is working with the British cycling federation to recover. She has also confirmed that she will miss the European Championship next week to focus on getting back to 100%.
Unfortunately, I have been dealing with a concussion since Brazil. In true Evie style, I tried to say I was okay but deep down I knew I wasn't. I am working with the British federation to recover, my head needs time to heal and it is a very frustrating process. I will not compete in the Europeans, but I will be back soon.
