Decathlon arrives at the World Tour 2024
Decathlon has officially announced its arrival in the World Tour with the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team. The rumours of the sports equipment company joining the professional peloton have come true. The sponsorship will be for at least five years and will provide the team with Van Rysel bikes, helmets and glasses.
Decathlon teams up with AG2R and lands in the World Tour
Rumours of Decathlon joining professional cycling have been circulating since the beginning of the year. After AG2R announced that it would race next year with Van Rysel bikes - and after Citroen's farewell - Decathlon has gone one step further and become the team's main sponsor.
The announcement was made with great fanfare from the French company's facilities near Lille. The sponsorship will link the two for at least the next five years. The official team name will be Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team and will use bikes, helmets and eyewear from Van Rysel.

Specifically, the team will mostly ride the Van Rysel RCR Pro, as it became known a few weeks ago, while for time trials they will use the FCR model.
The team has carried out an intensive aerodynamic study to select the best profiles and find the right balance with ergonomics. The hard work has also been extended in the laboratory to simulate real situations, in the revision of the paint application processes and in weight reduction.
The kit will mainly feature three colours. The jersey has Decathlon blue sleeves and upper part, while the lower part is white. The bib shorts are black and the gloves and shoes are white.
The team has also taken the opportunity to announce the signing of Victor Lafay and Sam Bennett for the next two years.
The union is part of the new global strategy that Decathlon has been promoting since last year and will mean an important financial injection for the team.
