Ben Turner will change teams in 2027. The British rider will leave INEOS at the end of this season to join Soudal Quick-Step, with whom he has signed a three-year contract that will keep him in the Belgian structure until the end of 2029.

Ben Turner leaves INEOS and joins the new Soudal Quick-Step project

Soudal Quick-Step confirmed this Wednesday the signing of Ben Turner for the next three seasons. The 27-year-old Brit will thus close a five-season chapter at INEOS, the team with which he turned professional in 2022, to join a Wolfpack that continues to strengthen its roster for 2027.

Turner arrives as a particularly versatile rider. He can handle broken stages, has a good sprint finish, and also performs well against the clock, although it is in the classics where he has delivered some of his most interesting performances.

Since his arrival in the WorldTour, he has accumulated a dozen participations in Monuments and has finished in the top ten in both Brabantse Pijl and Dwars door Vlaanderen. His relationship with the cobbles dates back practically to his debut among professionals. In his first Paris-Roubaix, he finished 11th while working for Dylan van Baarle, who that day ended up taking the victory.

Indeed, Turner will now reunite with Van Baarle at Soudal Quick-Step. The Belgian team is rebuilding its block for the classics, and the Brit fits that profile of a rider capable of taking on personal responsibilities while also performing important collective work.

Turner has also shown that his potential goes beyond one-day races. He has three professional victories, including a stage of the Vuelta a España.

The cyclist himself has explained that wearing the colors of Soudal Quick-Step has a special meaning for him. As a child, he followed the classics with his father, and the Belgian team was one of the teams that caught his attention the most.

“For me, it is a great privilege to join Soudal Quick-Step, a team I have always dreamed of being part of since I was a child, when I watched the classics with my father,” Turner explained after the agreement was made official.

The Brit also highlighted the long-term project that the team has presented to him. His intention is to continue developing as a rider, seek his own victories, and contribute to collective successes starting next season.

Soudal Quick-Step continues to rebuild its roster

Turner's incorporation fits into the transformation process that Soudal Quick-Step is undergoing after the departure of Remco Evenepoel to Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe. The team is regaining some of the weight that the classics and sprints historically had in its identity.

In this new block, names like Jasper Stuyven and Dylan van Baarle already appear, two riders with extensive experience in the major spring races. In fact, both are leading the team's formation for the Tour of Luxembourg this week.

Jurgen Foré, CEO of Soudal Quick-Step, points out Turner's versatility as one of the main reasons for his incorporation. According to the team, they have been following the Brit for some time and believe he can perform well in both the classics and stage races, as well as provide support in numerous scenarios.

The move also expands the list of signings announced by Soudal Quick-Step for 2027. Turner joins a project that will face the next season with a significantly renewed roster and an increasingly evident commitment to regain prominence in one-day races.
