Javier Romo could leave Movistar: INEOS negotiating his signing

The cycling market could see one of the most unexpected moves for the upcoming season. Javier Romo is reportedly negotiating his incorporation into Netcompany INEOS, according to the journalist specializing in transfers Daniel Benson, despite the fact that the Spanish rider is under contract with Movistar Team until the end of 2028.

Romo, 27 years old, has become one of the important riders in the Spanish structure over the last few seasons. His stage victory at the Tour Down Under 2025, a WorldTour category event, confirmed his ability to achieve results at the highest level.

His possible departure would also represent a significant move for a Movistar immersed in the renewal of its roster and that has bet on incorporating young talents for the coming years.
