Zwift unveils its biggest evolution yet, with a smart trainer and real-world video routes
Zwift takes an important step in its indoor cycling platform with the launch of Zwift Plus, a new subscription that incorporates adaptive training plans and the ability to ride on real roads through high-definition videos. The novelty comes with 21 routes spread across six countries and a training system that automatically adjusts the planning according to each cyclist's progress and availability.
Zwift launches Zwift Plus with a personal coach and video routes on real roads
The platform thus expands its offering, which until now has mainly focused on virtual worlds, races, and structured training, with two features aimed at improving both physical preparation and the experience of using the trainer.

Zwift Coach, a coach that modifies the plan according to your training
One of the main innovations of Zwift Plus is Zwift Coach, a planning system that not only schedules sessions but also modifies the calendar when the user cannot follow it.

To start, the cyclist must indicate their goals, experience, preferences, and availability. From there, Zwift Coach prepares a personalized program using a training model that, according to the company, combines scientific research with anonymized power and heart rate data from millions of users.

The interesting thing is that the system does not force the completion of only structured training. It can incorporate free rides, routes, events, specific sessions, and activities with RoboPacers, taking advantage of the different possibilities of the platform.
Moreover, the plan adapts when circumstances change. If a cyclist decides to go outdoors, skips a session, or accumulates more fatigue than expected after a competition, Zwift Coach can reorganize the following training sessions to maintain the initial goal.
Before each activity, the system explains which session corresponds to be performed and what its purpose is. At the end, it offers an analysis of the training in a new section called Coach Analysis. All planning can also be consulted and configured from the Zwift Companion app, which features a revamped interface.
Zwift Video opens the door to real climbs and roads
The second major addition is Zwift Video, an exclusive feature of Zwift Plus that allows replacing the usual virtual scenarios with real images recorded in high definition.
At its launch, the platform announces 21 routes and 385 kilometers of roads distributed across six countries. Among the routes are well-known climbs such as the Galibier, Sa Calobra, or Teide, as well as roads from the Lofoten Islands, South Africa, Scotland, and the United States.

The novelty is not just about playing a video while pedaling. Zwift maintains elements of its usual experience, such as PowerUps, segment rankings, HoloReplay, experience points, and the ability to share the route with other users.
Cyclists will be able to perform structured training on these roads, compete against their own records, or simply ride them at their own pace. All routes allow completing laps, and the company plans to incorporate organized events and MeetUp gatherings in the coming months.

Zwift has also announced that it will progressively expand the catalog with new destinations starting in early 2027.
To encourage the use of these roads, the Globetrotter Challenge is launched, a challenge that proposes completing ten routes before February 1, 2027, to unlock exclusive equipment and additional experience points.
Price and availability of Zwift Plus
Zwift Plus is already available at a price of 29.99 euros per month, according to the German magazine TOUR. The conventional subscription continues to cost 19.99 euros monthly, so accessing the new features means paying an additional 10 euros per month. It is not a separately charged add-on but a higher subscription tier.
New users will be able to try Zwift Plus for free for 14 days. Current subscribers will have access to a temporary promotion to use all the features of Zwift Plus for one month at no additional cost.
With this launch, Zwift introduces two ways to expand its training experience: one focused on individualized planning and another on exploring real scenarios without leaving its multiplayer environment. The traditional subscription will remain available for those who prefer to continue using the usual features of the platform.
