Wilier Urta SLR 2024 is spotted in the hands of World Champion Simone Avondetto
The Wilier Urta SLR is one of the mountain bikes with more personality that have passed through our editorial office and as capable of winning an XCO World Championship as an XCM race. But it looks like we will soon have a new version that is already being tested in competition. What looks like the Wilier Urta SLR 2024 could arrive with 120mm of travel and new geometry.
World Champion Simone Avondetto tests the Wilier Urta SLR 2024 prototype
From Wilier Triestina they are taking advantage of the first races of the year for some Wilier Pirelli riders to test a new model in development. These images are of the bike with which Simone Avondetto, current U23 XCO World Champion, raced in the last Internacionales de Chelva, but we could also see the same model used by Samuele Porro in the Andalucía Bike Race 2023.
Although the bike looks with the classic geometric aesthetics that tries to hide the shapes of the frame, the truth is that there is no doubt that this is a Wilier URT SLR with some modifications, such as the new internal cable routing or its bottom bracket.

In the coming days we will see if the Wilier Pirelli also decides to race this new prototype in the Absa Cape Epic 2023 and if the Avondetto decides to compete with it in the 2023 World Cup races, where he will debut as elite. What there is no doubt about is that we will have more news of the model soon.
