Van der Poel, the King of Namur

Van der Poel wins epic CX World Cup in Namur
The World Cup in Namur 2020 witnessed another epic fight between Van der Poel and Van Aert, but that fight was only for second place until lap 7. The young Pidcock led the race alone until then, and even seemed to "play" with his rivals at times as he allowed himself to maintain a comfortable lead and only accelerated when Van der Poel tried to reach him.

However, Pidcock's efforts took their toll in the final laps and Van der Poel and Van Aert were able to overtake him with some ease on lap eight.
It was on lap eight that Van Aert first overtook Pidcock, where Van der Poel launched a final attack from third position and managed to reach the finish line with a 3 second lead over Van Aert and 11 seconds over Pidcock.
