Nino Schurter's keys to ride faster
In summary, Schurter gives 4 "simple" keys with which we can improve our technique:
- Correct tyre pressure: Nino recommends exerting pressure on his tyre with your own weight, if you can easily touch your rim you have low pressure and if you can't sink it you have high pressure.
- Weight forward on climbs: Lowering your back on steep climbs will make the mountain bike have more traction and you will be able to climb faster with the same effort.
- Low center of gravity on technical descents: Maintaining a low center of gravity and bent knees will allow you to save some mistakes and faster driving on descents or technical sections and jumps.
- Energy saving on fast descents: Finally, on fast but less technical descents, Nino advises saving energy with tricks like relaxing your arms and hands, and trying to recover from previous efforts.
