The World Champion will start her MTB season next week
After her brilliant start on the road, with a victory in the Fleche Wallonne or a second place in Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Puck Pieterse will start her mountain bike season next Friday, May 9th at the Dutch XCC National Championship.
The XCO World Champion starts her MTB season
The 22-year-old cyclist from the Fenix-Deceuninck team was crowned absolute XCO World Champion last September in Andorra, but since that day she has not competed in the discipline due to her intense road calendar.
Now, after a successful start in road racing, she will return to mountain biking and will do so in her own country. Her return to competition will be next Friday, May 9th in Hapert, where she will compete in the Short Track National Championship.

While we are still waiting to know the rest of her XCO calendar, everything points to this race serving as preparation for the upcoming XCO World Cup to be held in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic, from May 23rd to 25th.
Although we haven't seen Pieterse on a mountain bike since September, it is worth noting that she has been following the discipline and she was one of the signatories in the protest that the World Cup bikers carried out a few weeks ago to restore the characteristic 5-podium of the competition. Something they finally achieved to some extent.
