Antidoping sanctions Superman López for "use and possession of Menotropin" for 4 years
The UCI has just announced that Colombian cyclist Miguel Ángel López has been sanctioned for 4 years by the Anti-Doping Tribunal. This body has found the known as Superman López guilty of the use and possession of Menotropin.

The suspension began on July 25, 2023 and will be effective until 2027. Remember that Miguel Ángel López was expelled from Astana at the end of 2022 and signed with Team Medellín, with which he won the Vuelta a San Juan, until the UCI provisionally suspended him in July 2023. Now the UCI has announced the firm sanction of the Colombian cyclist.
The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) reports that the UCI Anti-Doping Tribunal has issued a decision against Colombian cyclist Miguel Ángel López.

The Tribunal found Miguel Ángel López guilty of an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) for the use and possession of a prohibited substance (Menotropin)* at the 2022 Giro d'Italia, and has imposed a four-year suspension on the rider.
According to the World Anti-Doping Code and the UCI Anti-Doping Rules, the suspension period began on July 25, 2023 and will remain in effect until July 24, 2027.
As a reminder, the disciplinary proceedings were initiated following an investigation conducted by the International Testing Agency (ITA) based on evidence obtained from the Spanish Civil Guard and the Spanish Anti-Doping Organization (CELAD) in the so-called "Ilex" Operation related to Dr. Marcos Maynar. The UCI welcomes this valuable collaboration.
Furthermore, in accordance with the Tribunal's Procedural Rules, the decision will be published on the UCI website. The decision may be appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) within one month.
The UCI will not make any further comments on the matter.
*Menotropin is a prohibited substance under the S2.2 class (peptide hormones and their releasing factors) of the Prohibited List maintained by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and adopted by the UCI.
