Pinarello expands the DOGMA XC family with a new, more downhill-focused XCT version

Pinarello reorganizes and completely expands its mountain bike catalog. The bike previously known as DOGMA XC is now called DOGMA XCR, while the new DOGMA XCT appears alongside it, a version developed to tackle longer and more technical routes. The renewal is completed with a new XC SERIES consisting of the XCR9, XCT9, and XCT7.

Pinarello turns the DOGMA XC into a much broader family

Three years have passed since Pinarello presented its first DOGMA XC, a bike born directly from competition and initially developed around Tom Pidcock's needs to win the Paris Olympics. The project quickly demonstrated its potential, with world titles for Pidcock and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and, subsequently, the Olympic gold achieved by the Briton in Paris 2024.Pidcock debuts Pinarello DOGMA XC for the World Championship and has a second bike that intrigues us

When the Pinarello DOGMA XC finally hit the market, the range was much simpler than what we know now. The dual suspension was basically offered in two levels, DOGMA XC and Pinarello XC, in addition to the option to purchase the frame of the former separately. The DOGMA used Toray M40J carbon and started at €13,500, while the XC used Toray T900 and lowered its price to €7,900.

Now Pinarello takes an important step and turns that platform into a range with two clearly differentiated focuses.

DOGMA XCR, new name for the competition machine

The bike we previously knew as DOGMA XC is now called DOGMA XCR. It is not a completely new platform, but rather an evolution of Pinarello's competition bike accompanied by a significant update of components.

The XCR maintains its focus on XCO and maximum efficiency in racing, but now comes standard with RockShox Flight Attendant electronic suspensions. It features the SID Ultimate Flight Attendant fork with 120 mm and the SIDLuxe Ultimate Flight Attendant 210x50 shock, along with a Reverb AXS dropper post with between 100 and 150 mm of travel depending on the size.

The assembly is completed with SRAM XX SL Eagle AXS transmission with power meter, DT Swiss XRC1200 wheels, and Vittoria Mezcal RACE 2.4 tires. Pinarello also debuts the Arctic Flame finish for this model.

New Pinarello DOGMA XCT for XCM and downcountry

The main novelty of this expansion is the DOGMA XCT, a bike that stems from the philosophy of the XCR but changes its orientation. Pinarello has developed it for those looking to maintain the performance of a competition bike beyond traditional XCO circuits.

The goal is to combine pedaling efficiency with more control and confidence as the hours on the bike increase, the difficulty of descents, and the variety of terrain. The brand itself places its natural terrain in marathon and downcountry events.

The difference is especially clear in the choice of components. Although it retains the frame made of TorayCa M40J carbon and the 120 mm front travel, Pinarello replaces the SID with a Fox 34 SL Factory, a fork more oriented to provide stiffness and control on demanding terrains.

The integrated cockpit with a purely racing orientation also disappears. The XCT uses a Race Face Turbine SL stem and Race Face Era carbon handlebars, while the tires are now Maxxis Rekon 2.4 TR.

The new XC SERIES brings both philosophies at lower prices

Below the two DOGMA models now appears a renewed XC SERIES, which replicates the division between XCR and XCT using TorayCa T900 carbon frames and more contained assemblies.

The XCR9 maintains its focus on XCO competition. It features SRAM X0 Eagle transmission, FSA SCi30 wheels, RockShox SID Select+ 35 fork with 120 mm, SIDLuxe Select+ shock, and integrated Talon Ultra XC cockpit. Its price is €8,700.

Alongside it is the XCT9, which transfers the approach of the DOGMA XCT to the T900 range. It mounts Shimano XT Di2 1x12 transmission, DT Swiss XR1700 wheels, Fox 34 fork with 120 mm, and a Race Face stem and handlebars set. It will be available for €8,000.

The entry point to this new family will be the XCT7, also with a TorayCa T900 frame. In this case, we find SRAM Eagle 90 Transmission, DT Swiss XR1700 wheels, RockShox SID 35 Base fork with 120 mm, and SIDLuxe Select+ shock. Its price is €6,500.

Thus, the range is structured as follows:

Model Orientation Carbon Price
DOGMA XCR XCO / competition TorayCa M40J €15,000
DOGMA XCT XCM / downcountry TorayCa M40J €13,500
XCR9 XCO / competition TorayCa T900 €8,700
XCT9 XCM / downcountry TorayCa T900 €8,000
XCT7 XCM / downcountry TorayCa T900 €6,500

The difference is no longer solely in the level of assembly. Pinarello now establishes two branches within its dual suspension catalog: XCR for those who prioritize pure performance in XCO and XCT for those looking for a bike prepared for longer routes and more demanding terrains.

The new Pinarello models will be publicly showcased for the first time at Sea Otter Europe, where they will be displayed at the brand's booth.
