New Megamo Pulse MY27 completely redesigned: more aerodynamic, stiffer, and starting from 3,499 euros
Megamo has officially presented the Pulse MY27, a comprehensive renovation of its high-performance road bike. More than just a simple update, the Catalan brand has completely rethought its platform with the aim of developing a bike capable of delivering maximum performance in competition while finding the ideal balance between aerodynamics, lightness, stiffness, and position on the bike.

Megamo Pulse MY27: the Spanish brand takes its road bike to a new level with more aerodynamics, stiffness, and a completely renewed range
Far from merely seeking the lightest frame or the most aerodynamic bike on the market, Megamo asserts that the development of the new Pulse has been based on a concept they call Pure Performance, a philosophy in which all elements work together as a single system to achieve a faster bike in the real conditions in which cyclists compete.
Aerodynamics no longer focuses solely on headwinds
One of the aspects that has most influenced the development of the Pulse MY27 has been the aerodynamic work. Megamo explains that most aero bikes are optimized for completely head-on wind situations, something that rarely occurs on the road.

Therefore, the new Pulse has been designed with crosswinds between 2.5 and 10 degrees of yaw (the angle at which the wind hits the bike) in mind, the scenario that the brand considers most representative of a real ride or competition. The goal has been to reduce aerodynamic drag when the wind direction changes constantly, achieving a more consistent and efficient performance.
To achieve this, Megamo has jointly developed all elements of the front and rear assembly.

Fork optimized for current wheels
The fork adopts a much wider profile, designed to work with modern, wider rims.
Its design keeps the airflow attached for longer before separation occurs, narrowing the wake left by the bike and improving pressure recovery towards the frame. According to Megamo, this allows for greater aerodynamic efficiency, especially when lateral winds appear.
New head tube
The head tube has also been completely redesigned.
Its deeper section works with the integrated Velora Carbon Aero handlebar to keep the airflow attached to the frame for longer, reducing turbulence around the front of the bike. All this with complete integration of cable routing and the cyclocomputer mount.
More efficient rear triangle
Megamo has also specifically worked on the rear triangle, one of the areas where the most turbulence is generated around the rear wheel.
The new design aims to better channel the air in that area to maintain aerodynamic efficiency even when lateral winds blow.
New saddle mount
The seat post incorporates a new fastening system compatible with both round and oval carbon rails, maintaining a very compact and lightweight profile without losing compatibility with current saddles.
A bike conceived as a single system
Megamo insists that aerodynamics has not been treated as a collection of independent parts.
The frame, fork, head tube, and cockpit have been developed simultaneously to manage airflow around the entire bike, reducing turbulence where it really affects performance and maintaining a balance between speed, stability, and weight.
Lightness without sacrificing aero profiles
Despite using very pronounced tube profiles and maximizing the limitations of UCI regulations, Megamo claims to have managed to keep a very low weight.
The SLR frame, in size M and without paint (RTP), declares a weight of 924 grams, while the fork weighs 458 grams.
The other specific components of the bike also show very low figures:

The brand also highlights that it has not only worked on reducing absolute weight but also on optimizing mass distribution to achieve a bike with particularly agile behavior.
27% stiffer where it really matters
The Pulse MY27 has been directly compared to the previous generation following Megamo's internal testing protocol.
The most striking figure is the 27% increase in bottom bracket stiffness, which now reaches 234 N/mm, improving power transfer during pedaling.
The other announced values are:
- Bottom bracket stiffness: 234 N/mm (+27 %)
- Head tube stiffness: 150 N·m/deg
- Rear triangle stiffness: 53 N/mm
According to Megamo, the goal has been to increase the efficiency of each pedal stroke without compromising bike control.
A completely revised geometry
The new Pulse also debuts a next-generation geometry.
The cyclist is positioned further forward over the bottom bracket, achieving a more balanced weight distribution between both wheels. This aims to improve pedaling efficiency, especially during climbs and sustained efforts.
Among the main innovations are:
- Lower positioned bottom bracket to reduce the center of gravity
- More vertical seat tube angle to improve power transfer
- 410 mm chainstays in all sizes
- Wheel clearance for tires up to 34 mm
- T47 bottom bracket to increase stiffness and eliminate creaks
- UDH dropout, prepared for current and future drivetrains
The same behavior from size XS to XL
One of the most curious aspects of the development of the Pulse MY27 is that Megamo wanted all sizes to offer exactly the same dynamic behavior.
To achieve this, for the first time it uses two different forks within the range, allowing it to maintain the same trail value from size XS to XL.

New Velora Carbon Aero cockpit
Another major highlight is the new Velora Carbon Aero, an integrated handlebar developed specifically for this platform.
With a declared weight of 320 grams, it includes:
- Completely internal cable routing
- Carbon top cap
- Inverted spacers that allow height adjustment without disassembling the entire headset
- Fully integrated mount for Garmin and Wahoo devices
- Larger support surface for the forearms, making it easier to maintain an aerodynamic position for longer.
Two types of carbon for different levels of demand
The Pulse MY27 range is divided into two different constructions that maintain exactly the same geometry and exterior design.
SLR (Super Light Race)
It is the version intended for top-level competition. Megamo uses high-modulus carbon fibers strategically placed to achieve a lighter frame while also being stiffer both at the bottom bracket and in the head tube.

It is aimed at cyclists looking for the maximum possible performance in competition and high-level training.
SL (Super Light)
The SL construction maintains the same design but uses a different arrangement of fibers to offer a balance between stiffness, comfort, and reliability.
It is aimed at those looking for a highly performing bike both for training and competition without needing to resort to the most exclusive carbon in the range.

Megamo will market the Pulse MY27 in five sizes (XS-XL) and with nine builds, all of which come standard with the Velora Carbon Aero cockpit, specific carbon seat post, and Pirelli P Zero Race TLR 30-622 tires.
