ENVE arrives to gravel with its MOG frame

The North American firm continues along the path it started with its Custom Bike and Melee road bikes, to stop being "a brand of wheels and components" and become a bike company. Its latest creation is a gravel bike, the MOG, which will certainly not go unnoticed by gravel lovers.

ENVE MOG, ready to go with you on your adventures

ENVE's bike catalog continues to grow little by little. A story that began with its Custom Bike project to offer its clients first class custom bikes and continued when a few months ago it presented its first series road bike, the Melee.

This MOG is born with a purely adventurous spirit, although without ignoring a sporty gravel thanks to its few aerodynamic touches such as the use of the omnipresent internal cable routing. However, the priority is focused on long distances and maximum comfort, with ENVE having optimized its geometry for the use of 42 mm tyres and accepting a maximum of 50 mm. In fact, the brand does not recommend the use of tyres smaller than 36 mm to avoid compromising its performance, which practically rules out a multi-purpose use with slick tyres.

ENVE has taken special care with the performance aspect of the bike so that everyone can find the performance that best suits their preferred type of use, from a sportier approach to maximum stability. To this end, in addition to its 6 available sizes, it offers a choice of 3 fork versions with different caster figures. By the way, the bike is only designed to be used with 700 mm wheels.

This decision was made because, for a lighter gravel bike, the other two bikes in its catalog are already suitable, which, despite being defined as road bikes, accept the use of 35 mm tyres.

Despite the robust appearance of its carbon frame, this ENVE MOG is only 90 grams heavier than the other models, leaving the frame, in size 56, at a very competitive 950 grams. Especially if we take into account that it includes the ENVE IN-Route system for routing the cables inside, an aspect that always takes a certain toll on this parameter. This system requires the use of the ENVE Aero stem included in the frame kit to ensure the correct integration of its lines, but is compatible with any handlebar suitable for internal cable routing.

Regarding the cable routing, it is worth mentioning that this MOG is designed to accept both mechanical and electronic groupsets in a dual or single chainring configuration. However, in the case of using a mechanical groupset, we can find some limitations when choosing a front derailleur as the frame lacks stops and the cable must be guided using a sheath along its entire length.

Beyond these configuration aspects, ENVE's new creation stands out for the storage system located on the down tube, which allows a generous capacity of 0.6 liters, which is accompanied by a pair of useful neoprene bags to prevent what we store there from moving down the tube. A Cargo Bay that, without a doubt, further emphasizes the adventurous character of this bike, which is complemented by additional threads for attaching transport systems to the top tube fork and next to the bottom bracket at the base of the down tube.

This ENVE MOG will be available only as a frame kit, including fork, handlebars, stem and seatpost for a price of 5,995 €.
