Nairo Quintana is hit by a car during a training
Nairo Quintana was hit by a car while he was doing his usual training in the Colombian department of Boyacá. The cyclist of the Arkea Samsic team was preparing to compete in the Tour de France when a car ended up hitting the Colombian cyclist. Apparently the champion of the Giro d'Italia 2014 and the Vuelta a España 2015 has not suffered any serious injuries, but he has put himself in the hands of his personal doctor.

Nairo Quintana was training on the Tunja-Motavita road in the sector of the Salvial trail. The Colombian was hit by a car that had just made an improper maneuver that caused the cyclist to end up on the ground. Various authorities, including the mayor of the municipality herself, Mery Mozo, came to assist Nairo Quintana. At first, the cyclist was not seriously injured but was quickly taken home to be treated by his personal doctor.

Nairo Quintana was training like every day in an area he knows perfectly. The Colombian champion is in the middle of the preparation phase before returning to Europe to resume a cycling season that has also been hard hit by the Coronovirus crisis.
