Loana Lecomte takes the lead on the new Canyon CLLCTV XCO team
In 2022 we will have a new team in the XCO World Cup, it comes from Canyon and will undoubtedly be one of the most exciting teams next season. At the head of the team is Loana Lecomte, the French rider who has revolutionised the competition in just 2 years. At the age of 21 she won her first World Cup in the Elite category, in 2020, and last season she stood out from the start of the World Cup with her 4 solo victories that allowed her to finally take first place in the overall classification of the event.
Lecomte's big goal for 2022 is to win the rainbow jersey of World Champion and for that we will see her riding the Canyon Lux full suspension or the brand's hardtail version, the Canyon Exceed, from now on.

She will be joined by compatriot Thomas Griot, a regular top 10 finisher, and current German XC marathon champion Luca Schwarzbauer. A new team member is expected to be announced in February. The main targets of the Canyon CLLCTV XCO will be the UCI XCO World Cup and this year's XCO World Championships in Les Gets, France.
“I’m super excited about the switch to Canyon. It’s a great chance for me and I believe that with Canyon’s commitment to their athletes, we’ll be able to compete at the highest level” said Thomas Griot during the presentation of the team. In addition, the French rider says that his goals for this season will be to qualify in the top five in the World Cup races and to win the French national title.
Meanwhile, 25-year-old German Luca Schwarzbauer, the current German XCM champion, will continue to combine his studies in industrial engineering at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences with his XC career, where he wants to be consistently in the top 10 of the World Cup this year. “It’s a big leap for me. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity. I’m certain that I’ve got what it takes to race with the best and the team structure and training is going to play a big role for me to push on to that next level and compete with not just the best in Germany, but the best in the world.”
As we've already mentioned, this is a team that comes directly from the brand's factory and we'll have more news about the Canyon CLLCTV on canyon.com.
