The Andalucía Bike Race 2023 will once again be a meeting point for the best XCM specialists in the world. Hans Becking, Wout Alleman, Tiago Ferreira, Fabian Rabensteiner or Sergio Mantecón, are just some of the confirmed favorites that will be on the starting line in Jaén on February 27th.
The Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN announces all confirmed professional cyclists for 2023
Year after year, the Andalucía Bike Race by GARMIN brings together the best cyclists of the international XCM scene and its thirteenth edition will be no exception.
Favorites for the victory
In the men's race, two-time European Champion and World Champion, Tiago Ferreira, stands out. Along with his partner, the Cypriot Andreas Miltadis and his team, DMT Blackjack, who will be looking to get rid of the frustration of last year where several misfortunes kept him away from the fight for the title.
Another outstanding pair will be formed by the Belgian Wout Alleman and the current European Champion, Fabian Rabensteiner, from Wilier-Pirelli Factory. A tandem that knows each other perfectly, that already raced in the last edition achieving three stage victories and that, without any doubt, will be among the favorites for the final victory.
RECOMENDADO
From the BUFF ® - MEGAMO MTB TEAM, the pair formed by Hans Becking and José Días is one of the most solid and effective in the world panorama, so it would not surprise anyone if we see them fighting for the victory.
The SCOTT - CALA BANDIDA team will go with Sergio Mantecón, XCM Spanish Champion, and Francesc Guerra as a partner. On the other hand, the local José Mari Sánchez and Pablo Guerrero want to be prophets in their land.
Another of the most powerful Spanish pairs is the one formed by Miguel Muñoz and Roberto Bou, both from the renewed Cannondale Vas Arabay. Francisco Herrero and Raúl Bermúdez are also sure to be in the fight for the best.
The women's race will be a very close one
In the women's race, the Lithuanian Katazina Sosna and the German Irina Lützelschwab start, on paper, as favorites, but the women's category always holds big surprises. What happened in the last edition, where Ariane Lüthi and Amy Wakefield dominated with an iron fist, was undoubtedly an exception and this year everything points to the fact that every detail will count for the final victory.
The pairs formed by Stefanie Dohrn and Lejla Njem?evi? or the BUFF ® - MEGAMO MTB TEAM, with the Swiss Janina Wust and the Catalan Meritxell Figueras, will surely also be fighting for the top positions.
We will have to see how the new Cannondale Vas Arabay pair formed by Estonian Greete Steinburg and Colombian Monica Calderon complements each other. Both already know what it is to win and will be ready to get on the podium.
Other names sure to be in the lead are Constanza Fasolis and Chiara Burato, as well as Bettina Janas and Adelheid Morath.
