Which GPS is Roglic using in La Vuelta?
Just a few months ago Hammerhead presented the Karoo 3 and in a short time it has become one of the most highly rated cycle computers in the sector. It is the device used by the official SRAM teams, such as Primoz Roglic's RedBull Bora, but now the Slovenian seems to be trying something new during La Vuelta.
What GPS is Primoz Roglic using during La Vuelta? Is there a new Hammerhead on the way?
The Hammerhead Karoo 3 is the first cycle computer developed by SRAM at the helm of the company, SRAM bought Hammerhead in 2022, and its features, functions, and usability have placed it directly among the most desired cycling devices of the moment.

Tips for climbing faster on the road
But Hammerhead's catalog currently only includes this Karoo 3, and that could be a problem for cyclists for whom 60 or 90g are crucial. Those 60 or 90g are more or less what professional cyclists save by choosing smaller and lighter devices, such as the Wahoo Bolt or the Garmin 130 Plus, to compete in stages where every gram counts. In those cases, cyclists prefer to sacrifice functions and screen size to benefit from what it can mean to climb a mountain pass with a few grams less.
In the case of Primoz Roglic, the Slovenian has been using the Karoo 3 since its presentation, but in some stages he has been seen with a much smaller GPS on his S-Works Tarmac SL8.
We do not know if it is a different device that Roglic and his team have taken care to camouflage or if it is really some kind of Hammerhead prototype designed specifically for cyclists looking for the lightest possible weight. We will be watching.
