New Hammerhead Karoo 3: one-day autonomy, premium materials and the best screen and navigation on the market?
Arrives a new Hammerhead Karoo cycle computer, the third generation of this model and the first since SRAM acquired the brand. A device that represents the pinnacle of innovation and that the American firm has integrated into its AXS electronic components ecosystem taking advantage of the launch of its new SRAM Red AXS.
SRAM evolves the Hammerhead Karoo to turn it into a super cycle computer
With the Hammerhead Karoo 3, SRAM doubles down on its AXS technology, which integrates all the electronic elements of the brand, not only the groups, but we can also find their Reverb seatposts, lights controlled through ANT+ communication or E-Bikes. Now, it is this Hammerhead Karoo 3 that joins the AXS components family.
A cycle computer that SRAM launches after acquiring Hammerhead at the end of 2021 and to which the brand has provided a high-quality screen and a long-lasting battery to help you achieve your goals through its training management functions, explore new routes with the best navigation or manage all the functions of the device from its Companion app or its online Dashboard software without the need to remove it from the handlebar.

The new screen of the Hammerhead Karoo 3 is of similar quality to that of smartphones with a size of 3.2'' and a resolution of 480x800 pixels. Also noteworthy in its hardware are the 64 GB of internal storage and the 4 GB of RAM that allow its software to run much more smoothly, being able to display maps with faster rendering without affecting battery life.
A battery that improves in this Hammerhead Karoo 3 to reach a duration of 15 hours, all in a device weighing just 118 grams that, of course, has a receiver capable of capturing signals from all current positioning systems, including Galileo, QZSS, and Beidou in addition to the usual GPS and GLONASS.
Among its new features, the integration with Google Maps or Apple Maps stands out, allowing you to send a route point from these applications to the cycle computer to navigate to it or its training software compatible with applications like Training Peaks or TrainerRoad.
Being a SRAM product, the American brand has wanted the integration with AXS to be maximum, being able to offer specific information about all of them with functions such as warning of low battery of a component after finishing our route so that we do not find, for example, the derailleur without charge when we go to pedal the next day. Of course, it also has ANT+ connectivity being able to link it with electric bikes, lights, radars.
With this new Hammerhead Karoo 3, a handlebar mount for standard round models is included, which is compatible with the previous generation of the Hammerhead Karoo. Additionally, the brand offers accessories such as a Go Pro camera mount or an adapter to use this cycle computer on Garmin-type mounts.
