It was Tom Pidcock's first Short Track in his life and he was just centimetres away from winning it against Mathieu Van der Poel. This was the sprint that Pidcock launched quite early and in which Jordan Sarrou also joined.

They were two of the big favourites for this XCO season and they have just come face to face in Nove Mesto. Although we are facing what are surely two unique riders in the history of cycling, we cannot forget that Tom Pidcock is still 21 years old and is already fighting for victories in one of the highest level MTB seasons in recent years.
