De Rosa unveils its most aerodynamic bike to date
The Italian company joins the trend of aerolight bikes with the presentation of its De Rosa 70 model, which combines an ultralight frame with the necessary profiling to reduce the resistance that the wind produces when the speed increases. A bike that also serves to celebrate the 70th anniversary of one of the classic Italian cycling brands.
De Rosa, in top form at 70 years old
De Rosa has dedicated 22 months of intense work to develop a frame weighing just 730 g and with aerodynamic profiles in a task for which he has once again counted on the contribution of the famous Pininfarina design studio, creator of some of the most famous supercars in history, and which now transfers its know-how to the world of bicycles, in a collaboration that began with the development of his previous aerodynamic machine, the SK.
Its high modulus carbon frame combines the qualities and textures of 12K braided carbon with those of unidirectional fibers to achieve the stiffness objectives sought in certain areas of the frame, while at the same time achieving a unique aesthetic.

The brand has also worked on the design of the head tube to achieve a tremendously slim shape, despite the internal cable routing, in a part of the bike that is essential for optimal aerodynamics. For the same reason, the top tube has very little slooping. However, what is most striking about it is its peculiar hexagonal cross-section.
Also worth mentioning is the rear triangle on which De Rosa has worked intensively, achieving not only angles and shapes in the stays and chainstays that allow guiding the air flow in the desired way, but also reducing the weight of this area.
Although no specific prices or setups have been announced, the brand will offer the possibility of equipping this bike with Campagnolo Super Record EPS, Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 or SRAM Red AXS, which can be combined with Campagnolo, Fulcrum or Vision wheels. For its part, the control frame is a specific FSA development for this bike that integrates perfectly with the lines of the headset.
A bike with which the Italian manufacturer shows that it is still in top form and maintains the essence of the best racing machines, bikes that are living history of transalpine cycling, even though the founder of the brand Ugo de Rosa has not been able to see this latest creation completed after his death just over a month ago.
