Cink’s 32-inch Cube for the World Championships: 120/115 mm, XTR Di2 and Newmen wheels

It is the big fashion topic and yes, the 32-inch wheels are also present at the 2026 MTB World Championship in Val di Sole. Ondřej Cink already used his Cube prototype on Thursday at the Short Track World Championship and all signs point to him trusting it again for the XCO event. The Czech Cycling Federation has been responsible for sharing the details of this CUBE AMS Raceday C:68X 32" prototype with FOX RAD suspensions, Shimano XTR Di2, and Newmen wheels.

The story of this prototype began to take shape in competition just a few weeks ago. Cink debuted the Cube AMS 32 inches by winning a C1 race in Ostrava and the good feelings led him to decide shortly after to take it to the World Cup in Les Gets. There we saw it for the first time against the best XCO specialists.

The next step has been to use it directly in the World Championship in Val di Sole. Cink already competed with it on Thursday at the Short Track World Championship, although his race was affected from the first lap by a broken shoe.

The Czech is expected to choose this prototype again to compete in the XCO World Championship, and it has been precisely the Czech Cycling Federation that has now shown the bike in detail and revealed much of its assembly.

CUBE AMS Raceday C:68X 32" Prototype Frame

The designation provided by the Czech Federation makes it clear that we are dealing with a specific development called CUBE AMS Raceday C:68X 32" PROTOTYPE.

The frame offers 115 mm of rear travel, while the fork raises the front travel to 120 mm.

As we had already observed in its first appearances, Cube has had to completely adapt the proportions of the bike to integrate considerably larger wheels than the usual 29". One of the most evident details continues to be the stem with a very pronounced negative angle, necessary to keep the handlebar position sufficiently low.

In terms of suspensions, the front is entrusted to a FOX Factory 34 RAD of 120 mm, an experimental fork that has become a fundamental piece for the different 32" projects that are emerging. And at the back, we find a FOX Factory Float SL with 115 mm of travel.

The Shimano XTR Di2 group takes care of the electronic transmission and brakes. The cranks have 175 mm length and are equipped with a 4iiii power meter. Cink mounts a 34-tooth chainring.

Other key features of this bike are inevitably its 32-inch wheels. Cube resorts to Newmen wheels and Schwalbe tires, two brands that are already offering alternatives to this new size. Additionally, we now know that Cink uses a PTN (Pepi's Tire Noodle) puncture protection insert.

Without knowing the weight, it seems evident that this version must be heavier than the 29" since the assembly is practically identical and in this case, the wheels, frame, and fork are larger. So we will see if the virtues of this diameter can overcome the expected greater weight of the set.

Regardless of the result Cink may achieve in Val di Sole, the presence of this bike will already be particularly relevant from a technical perspective. If he finally starts the XCO with it, this Cube could become the first 32-inch bike in history to compete in an XCO World Championship.
