The 32" Cube prototype will race in the World Cup in Les Gets
Ondřej Cink and Cube seem to be more than satisfied with the first competitive test of their new 32-inch MTB. The Czech rider debuted the prototype last weekend with a victory in Ostrava and has now confirmed that he will continue competing with it in a much more demanding setting: the World Cup in Les Gets.

Cink bets on 32" to compete in Les Gets
Just a few days ago, we saw Ondřej Cink competing with a new prototype of the Cube AMS equipped with 32-inch wheels for the first time. It was in a C1 event held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and the debut ended in the best possible way, with a victory.

That race seemed like a good opportunity to test the new development before facing the upcoming major international events. And the result has convinced the Czech rider to continue with it.
"Last weekend in Ostrava, the first test of the new 32-inch prototype bike went really well, with a victory in the C1 race," explains Cink. "Now we are ready to compete with this bike in the World Cup in Les Gets. I am really excited to see what we can achieve."
Therefore, we will see the new 32" Cube at the World Cup in Les Gets, where Cink will have his first opportunity to directly face this prototype against the best bikes and riders in current XCO.
The first test will come in the Men's Elite Short Track on Friday at 18:05, followed by the XCO event on Sunday.
This is the 32-inch Cube prototype
Cube has not officially presented the bike nor published its specifications, so much of what we know comes from what has been observed in the prototype used by Cink.

The bike maintains a suspension scheme similar to another 29" Cube AMS prototype seen earlier this season, with a Horst-Link system and a small rocker located in front of the seat tube.
The truly innovative aspect lies in its wheels. Cink is using Schwalbe Rick Race Pro tires of 32 x 2.4" mounted on Newmen wheels, accompanied by a FOX RAD fork specifically developed for this diameter and still in testing.
The integration of the wheels also requires adapting the handlebars. The prototype uses a very pronounced negative stem to lower the handlebar height, one of the main challenges posed by introducing larger diameter wheels on an XC bike.

At approximately 1.80 m tall, Cink also demonstrates that the 32" is not being tested exclusively by particularly tall riders.
The 32" already has a podium in the World Cup
Cink's Cube will not be the first 32-inch bike to compete at the highest level. One of the most significant precedents was set by Alessandra Keller and Thomus.
The Swiss rider already competed with the Thomus R32 32-inch in the World Cup in Lenzerheide and managed to reach the podium with it, demonstrating that this diameter can be competitive in top-level XCO.
Now it will be Cube who continues to explore this path with Cink. And it will do so after his first test ended with a victory.
