Cannondale CAAD 13, aluminium is still top of the range in 2023

Cannondale's CAAD frames have historically been popular with the general public due to the care that the brand has always shown for this material and that has remained in force even after the popularisation of carbon. Far from relegating it to a second-rate product, Cannondale has continued to evolve its aluminium frames, which have now reached the CAAD13 version and with which we can have a fully competitive bike at a much more economical price than its carbon fibre equivalents. 

Cannondale CAAD13, preserving the tradition

Aluminium, which made Cannondale great, is still an important material for the brand. A material they have been working with for over 40 years, since the days when steel was king.

That's why this new Cannondale CAAD13 just had to follow the line it has been working on all these years to shape this aluminium bike, comfortable, smooth and comparable in most variables with the carbon versions. 

This CAAD13 emulates Cannondale's top of the range SuperSix EVO in its general design lines, looking for the same aerodynamic profile sections that characterise the brand's flagship bike and that allow good wind penetration without compromising stiffness or increasing the weight excessively.

A lightweight bike with the ride comfort that Cannondale has been providing to its frames for years thanks to the design of its SAVE rear triangle and the absorption provided by the HollowGram 27 KNØT seatpost, while at the front it shares carbon fork with the top bikes in the catalogue.

In line with the current trend, the Cannondale CAAD13 is a versatile bike capable of handling all types of terrain, as evidenced by its wide wheel arches, capable of accepting up to 30mm tyres. 

In addition, the Cannondale CAAD13 adds Speed Release thru axles for easy wheel removal. Perhaps it can be reproached for not using, following the current trend, an internal cable routing from point to point, although it is something that our trusted mechanic will undoubtedly be grateful for when carrying out any maintenance task. 

A bike whose performance parameters in terms of stiffness, lightness and absorption surpass even many carbon frames, making it a fantastic option to have a top level bike at a much lower price than the most reputable models made of carbon fibre.
