226ERS launches LACT8, its first lactate gel, available in four different flavors
Lactate has become one of the ingredients that is generating the most interest in endurance sports nutrition. Following its appearance in the Tour de France and some of the great performances in world athletics, more and more brands are incorporating this compound into their products. The Spanish brand 226ERS has just launched LACT8 GEL, its new offering with four different flavors and a special release.
Lactate arrives in 226ERS' catalog with LACT8 GEL
Sports nutrition is experiencing a new phase where not everything revolves exclusively around increasing the amount of carbohydrates an athlete can consume during exercise. One of the trends that has been receiving the most attention in recent months is the use of lactate as an additional energy source, a strategy that has moved from laboratories to some of the most important competitions in the world.

One of the major drivers of this trend has been Tadej Pogačar. During the 2026 Tour de France, UAE Team Emirates-XRG confirmed that the Slovenian was using a new formulation with lactate.

Lactate has also made its way into athletics and was part of the nutritional strategy of Ethiopian Yomif Kejelcha, who managed to run the 2026 London Marathon in 1:59:41, becoming the second athlete to officially break the two-hour barrier in this distance. A historic result that has contributed to increasing interest in this type of supplementation, although it does not alone demonstrate that lactate was responsible for the performance improvement.
In this context, 226ERS presents LACT8 GEL, its first energy gel formulated with lactate, with which the Spanish company enters a still young category, but in which several manufacturers are already beginning to compete.

Four flavors to choose from
The new offering from 226ERS aims to differentiate itself from other brands that already market exogenous lactate, among other things, by providing a greater variety of flavors from its launch.
LACT8 GEL debuts on November 5, 2026, with a special pack that includes four distinct flavors (peach, mixed berries, lemon, and lollipop) a feature with which the brand aims to expand consumption options during long-duration training and competitions.
For now, the units are very limited, and priority access to this first commercialization is managed through the brand's official newsletter.
