The powerful Wilier Triestina Pirelli Factory Team Marathon 2023 is presented

The Wilier Triestina Pirelli Factory Team Marathon 2023 is already a reality. The Italian team will repeat squad to fight for the most ambitious goals of the season, including the Andalucía Bike Race, the Cape Epic or the World Cup.

Same formula for 2023: Wilier Triestina Pirelli Factory Team Marathon repeats its four riders 

In a press release, the Italians have made their 2023 squad official. Fabian Rabensteiner was the team's most successful rider last season and will have the challenge of matching (or surpassing) his good performance in 2022, when he won the Italian and European XCM championships, won a stage of the Cape Epic and took the Swiss Epic.

"After the 2022 super season I want to continue to confirm myself again among the strongest athletes in the long distances," he said. He also showed great interest in the new XCM World Cup, "as it will be held in new and unprecedented places for us".

Rabensteiner's pending challenge will be the World Championships. The rider himself admits that "I've never been able to show a good performance... until now".

Daniel Geismayr also had a great season. The Austrian's most outstanding results are his victories in the Austrian nationals and the Swiss Epic. In this sense, he expressed that "it will certainly be difficult as a team to repeat a season like last year, but we will try". The Cape Epic will be Geismayr's big goal this season.

Samuele Porro and Wout Allemaninstead: wishes for a better season

The other two Wilier Triestina Pirelli Factory Team Marathon riders will try to have a different relationship with bad luck and injuries after the experience of a difficult 2022.

"I see 2023 as a season to be lived without compromise, to redeem a disappointing 2022," Porro expounded. He also stressed that he would do so without pressure "thanks to the confidence that the team guarantees me".

For his part, Allemaninstead was apprehensive about his first race after a long period away from competition. The Belgian had been dealing with a lymph node infection for six months. Still, he recalled that "the first part of last year was really great".

The team also took advantage of the press release to inform about some of the events in which it will participate in the 2023 season.

They will start the season with the Mediterranean Epic and the Andalucía Bike Race before facing one of the major objectives, the Cape Epic. In May it will be the turn of the redesigned World Cup. They will also race in the Hero Dolomites, the Dolomiti Superbike and the Mythos Primiero Dolomiti, in addition to the national, European and World Championships.
