Ellen van Dijk's Trek Speed Concept could be the most beautiful bike of 2023
Trek is preparing a spectacular customisation for the Speed Concept of time trial World Champion and reigning Hour Record holder Ellen van Dijk. On this bike, the rainbow stripes are printed on a chrome-effect paint base that does not go unnoticed. Ready to excel in the time trials that the Dutch rider will face during the 2023 season.
Ellen van Dijk has a new weapon ready to dominate time trials
Trek's bike customisations for its team riders never leave anyone indifferent. In fact, it was one of the first brands to start creating bikes with specific designs, many of which have since become available to the general public thanks to its Project One customisation program.

The Speed Concept that will be used by Trek Segafredo's Dutch rider Ellen van Dijk, three-time World Time Trial Champion, including the title she won a few months ago at the World Championships in Wollongong, Australia, will not go unnoticed, and Trek is now paying tribute to her with this design.
The design of this Speed Concept follows a similar pattern to the one we saw on the track version that Trek prepared a few months ago to tackle the Hour Record. On that occasion we were also impressed with the metallic paint, on that bike, on a half-blue, half-white base.
Now Trek has chosen a chrome effect that is simply spectacular and highlights the rainbow stripes that recognise Van Dijk as World Champion and that are displayed along the fork and on the seat tube area. Apart from that, only the big logo of the brand and the main sponsors of her team. Trek-Segafredo, Pirelli and SRAM stand out on the striking paint base.
Otherwise, it's a similar bike to the one we can buy as standard and has a base price of €14,499, with the differences being that the standard model is more triathlon-oriented, including a hydration system that occupies the entire gap between the down tube and seat tube, improving aerodynamics in the process. The model available for sale will not have access to the lenticular rear wheel that Ellen van Dijk's bike has.
It doesn't have any kind of logo on it, but on closer inspection, the graphics on the bottom and the small golf ball dimples on the surface make it impossible to hide the fact that it's a Zipp Super-9 lenticular wheel from team sponsor SRAM. A wheel that costs an extra €2,582.
There are also differences in the fit of the handlebars, which are specific to the Dutch rider, fully adapted to her physiognomy compared to the standard bike model, but in any case, mounted on the integrated handlebars specifically created for this bike.
