Trek hints that the new Specialized has been inspired by its Supercaliber
The new Specialized Epic World Cup had been unveiled just a few hours ago when Trek's official Instagram account posted a few images of its Supercaliber accompanied by the caption "What's the saying? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?"
Trek hints that the Epic World Cup was inspired by the Supercaliber and the manager of Specialized Factory Racing invites to check which one is faster in Nove Mesto
Needless to say, many of those who saw the new Epic World Cup for the first time thought that Specialized had been inspired by the Supercaliber for this model. Trek did not miss the media hype of the Specialized presentation to generate debate and interaction on their social networks with the publication we mentioned at the beginning. But among the hundreds of comments that the publication has already accumulated, the one made by Benno Willeit, manager of Specialized Factory Racing, stands out, where he proposed to see which bike/team would be the fastest in Nove Mesto, the premiere of the XCO World Cup 2023.
Luckily the true test and showdown of what bike/team will be faster, the UCI MTB World Series is about to start. Can't wait to start the 2023 WC season in only 20 days! Good luck Trek Factory Racing Team XC and see you in Nove Mesto. - Benno Willeit
As we say, these comments do not seem to be serious recriminations between brands or teams, but rather a strategy to gain some of the media attention generated by a big launch like the one made by Specialized. SCOTT also did the same, presenting Nino Schurter's new Spark for 2023.
