Pidcock starts his road season in Algarve, this is his calendar
Tom Pidcok is planning his way to July, where he will try again to offer a high level in the Tour de France. A similar plan to that of Wout Van Aert and Mathieu Van der Poel and which will surely offer us again interesting duels like the ones we have been able to enjoy in the cyclo-cross campaign that is coming to an end to make way for the road.
This is Tom Pidcock's varied 2023 road calendar
Tom Pidcock has ended his cyclo-cross season with his withdrawal from the World Cyclo-cross Championships next weekend in the Dutch town of Hoogerheide. At the moment he is concentrating in Denia looking to get ready for the road season that the British rider will start imminently with the Tour of the Algarve in just two weeks, the tough Portuguese race in which Pidcock hopes to shine as he confessed in an interview to the Flemish newspaper Het Niewsblad.
It will be the first step on the thin wheels for the INEOS-Grenadiers rider on a path that should lead him to achieve his best version during the Tour de France. While June arrives, of course, he will try to offer us a good show in a varied selection of races that include from tours, such as Algarve or Tirreno-Adriatico, to cobblestone classics, among which Pidcock has included the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Tour of Flanders.

It is noteworthy that his calendar is similar to that of Wout Van Aert and Mathieu Van der Poel, which will extend the battles between these three cycling phenoms to the asphalt.
The confirmed calendar only extends to the Tour of Flanders, the first highlight of Tom Pidcock's season, which he will reach after Algarve, Het Niewsblad, Strade Bianche, Tirreno-Adriatico, Milan-San Remo and Dwars door Vlaanderen.
After the Flemish monument, the calendar is more uncertain, although if we look at the path followed by Pidcock in previous seasons, everything suggests that it will also include his participation in the Ardennes classics before focusing on the specific preparation for the Tour de France during the months of May and June.
A first part of the season in which we expect to see the best version of Tom Pidcock after a cyclo-cross campaign in which he has shone at a high level, although overshadowed by the immense dominance of Van Aert and Van der Poel. Unlike last year, where the trip to the World Cyclocross Championships in Fayetteville conditioned the start of the INEOS-Grenadiers rider's season, this time he has decided to put an end to his muddy campaign, seeing himself without options to win again his rainbow jersey and start to prepare properly for the coming months.
