Tiago Ferreira wins Brasil Ride 2023 and Henrique Avancini bids farewell in style

On Saturday October 28th, Tiago Ferreira won the Brasil Ride 2023, one of the most important XCM stage races on the calendar. This edition had the special emotion of being the last professional race of the local hero Henrique Avancini and the Brazilian has said goodbye in style, wearing the XCM world champion jersey and fighting until the last day for the first place.

After 7 stages and despite Henrique Avancini's victory on the last day, Portugal's Tiago Ferreira took first place in the general classification with a lead of only 38 seconds over the Brazilian. The podium was closed by the German Simon Stiebjahn.

The edition had an important emotional factor as it was the race chosen by Avancini to put an end to his sporting career, and during the course he was honoured by the local authorities for his great contribution both to the development of this race and of Brazilian mountain biking.

The Spanish Cannondale Vas Arabay team was one of the main protagonists of the race with the overall victory of Dutch rider Tessa Kortekaas in the women's category, second place for Colombian rider Mónica Calderón and the stage podiums achieved by Spaniard Roberto Bou.
