The highest-earning MyWhoosh riders will now have to race with Favero Assioma PRO pedals
MyWhoosh is going to tighten control over power data in its virtual competitions. The platform has announced a technical agreement with Favero that will convert the Assioma PRO pedals into the main and mandatory power source for certain participants of its Sunday Race Club starting from October 4, 2026.
This measure represents a significant change in the operation of the races. For the affected cyclists, it will no longer be the power recorded by the smart trainer that determines the performance of their avatar and the official results. That role will be directly transferred to the Favero Assioma PRO RS-2 or PRO RL-2.
MyWhoosh chooses the Favero Assioma PRO as the reference power meter for its races
The goal of MyWhoosh is to increase the accuracy, consistency, and especially the ability to verify the data recorded during esports competitions. This is particularly relevant in the Sunday Race Club, where there is a significant financial prize pool.

From October 4, all Category 1 riders and certain Category 2 participants will have to select compatible Favero Assioma PRO pedals as their main power source within MyWhoosh.
The accepted models will be exclusively the bilateral measurement versions:
- Favero Assioma PRO RS-2: compatible with Shimano SPD-SL cleats.
- Favero Assioma PRO RL-2: compatible with Look Keo cleats.
- Recommended price for both: 699 €.
The pedals have a declared accuracy of ±1% and use Favero's IAV (Instantaneous Angular Velocity) system, which takes into account the variations in angular velocity produced during each pedal stroke.
MyWhoosh believes that these features, along with the international availability of the pedals and their compatibility with the two most widespread road cleat systems, allow them to be used as a common standard for their competitions.

The trainer will remain connected, but its power will no longer decide the outcome
The change significantly modifies the configuration used until now.
In the new system, the data from the Assioma PRO will be responsible for controlling the avatar's performance, will be recorded by MyWhoosh systems, will be the official data used to establish results, and will constitute the main reference for post-race verifications.
The smart trainer will remain connected as a controllable device and will be responsible for reproducing resistance and changes in slope. However, for riders subject to the new regulations, the power calculated by the trainer will no longer control the avatar or be used to determine official results.
Until now, the usual configuration was precisely the opposite: the trainer provided the main power used by the game, and an independent power meter functioned as a secondary source to verify it.
October will serve as a testing ground before the new MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode
The change will begin on October 4, but during that month MyWhoosh and Favero will conduct tests under real competition conditions to check the connection and the new registration system.
The next step will come between late October and early November with the launch of the so-called MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode.

This will be a new function integrated into the Favero pedals that will allow for automatic verification of the power meter used by the rider in the Sunday Race Club.
To do this, it will be necessary to update both the firmware of the Assioma PRO and the Favero mobile application. When the mode is activated, the pedals will be able to transmit additional information necessary for verification to MyWhoosh, especially the crank length and the power scaling factor.
In this way, the platform will be able to check not only the received power but also certain parameters related to the configuration and measurement of the power meter, creating a more easily auditable record.
For Favero users who do not participate in these competitions, the transmission of this additional information will remain optional and can be activated or deactivated from the application. For the affected riders of the Sunday Race Club, however, it will be mandatory once the new mode is operational.
It will not be mandatory for all MyWhoosh participants
The new regulations will initially affect two specific groups:
- All Category 1 riders participating in the Sunday Race Club.
- Category 2 riders who have won more than $2,000 in MyWhoosh prizes during the corresponding qualifying period.
For the rest of the participants in the Sunday Race Club, MyWhoosh will recommend using the Assioma PRO, but will not make it mandatory.
Those who already have compatible Assioma PRO RS-2 or RL-2 can continue to use them. When the eSports Race Mode arrives, they will only need to install the corresponding updates and activate the function from the Favero application.
There is also an important nuance. Affected riders who do not have compatible Assioma PRO on October 4 will be able to continue participating in the races, but will not be entitled to receive financial prizes until they meet the equipment requirements. The same will happen later if they do not install and activate the new eSports Race Mode when it becomes available.
MyWhoosh justifies the decision by the competitive level and the amount of financial prizes distributed in the Sunday Race Club and other top-level events. According to Matt Smithson, director of Esports & Game Operations at MyWhoosh, the platform needs power data that is accurate, consistent, and can be independently audited.
The alliance with Favero aims precisely to establish a common and verifiable measurement source to reduce one of the most delicate variables of any virtual cycling competition: ensuring that all participants are competing with power data obtained and configured under the same criteria.
