The latest update from Favero multiplies the autonomy of its pedals to up to 160 hours
The Italian company Favero has just released an update for its Assioma Pro pedals, which include both its road model Pro RS and the mountain bike alternative, Pro MX. A new firmware that has achieved a tremendous increase in battery life.

From 60 to 160 hours, impressive increase in battery life for Favero power meter pedals
For several years now, the Italian brand Favero has become a true reference in the world of power meters with a range of pedals that, with options for measuring one or both legs, have become benchmarks for precision and reliability at a price that just a few years ago was impossible to find in power meters.
Now, Favero gives a new boost to its Assioma Pro RS and Assioma Pro MX pedals, its top-of-the-line models for road and mountain biking respectively, with a firmware update that allows for an increase in the battery life from 60 hours to 160 hours, 10 times more, quite impressive.

It is difficult to determine how this has been achieved, but what is known, after signal intensity measurements, is that it has not been accomplished by lowering the power at which its Bluetooth/ANT+ chip transmits information wirelessly to be read by the user's bike computer.
Most likely, Favero has been cleaning up the programming code of its pedals, improving the algorithms that perform certain calculations to make them more efficient and eliminating obsolete code. A meticulous job that results in lower energy requirements.

To update the pedals, users of the brand only need to open the management app on their mobile, connect the pedals, and after receiving the notification that an update is available, press the update button and wait for a process that lasts about 3 minutes to complete. After that, it will only be necessary to perform a calibration, something that should always be done before starting each ride to ensure maximum data accuracy, and then go out and ride with them, forgetting about charging them for longer periods.
