For a little over a year, we have seen how Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz has been incorporating cycling into his training to the point where it seems to have become one of the main activities for his preparation. Now, in collaboration with Specialized, he has just debuted an exclusive S-Works Tarmac SL8 designed just for him.
Carlos Sainz debuts an exclusive S-Works Tarmac SL8
Those who follow Carlos Sainz on his social media have been able to see for months that training on a Specialized bike has become a common occurrence for him, whether in Monaco, Madrid, or at Formula 1 circuits around the world. We have even seen him pedaling alongside Tadej Pogacar, as they both share a city of residence.
Specialized Spain offered Sainz the opportunity to customize a model in detail that would embody the character of his personal brand, and the result is spectacular.

Behind the design, we find Tom Briggs, Principal Concept Designer at Specialized and responsible for some of the most iconic custom bikes in recent years. The painting work is done by Color-Monkey, capable of perfectly reflecting the colors and details masterfully drawn by Briggs.
In the design, details such as the number 55 on the wheels and frame, a chili drawn under the bottom bracket, and tones matching the street Ferrari Competizione that Carlos Sainz customized exclusively for himself stand out.
The frame is an S-Works Tarmac SL8 "Ready To Paint," a version that Specialized sells with a carbon finish ready to be painted, or for weight fanatics who want to enjoy the fastest and lightest frame on the market: just 685 g.
In addition to the design, Carlos underwent a bike fitting at the Specialized Madrid - Bikes 101 store and a Body Geometry Fit study to fine-tune the configuration of measurements and components.
The assembly of this S-Works Tarmac SL8 is completed with the Roval Rapide CLX II Team wheels, weighing only 1,350 grams; the Roval Rapide cockpit, in 110x400 measurements; the S-Works Power saddle with 155 mm Mirror technology, and the new complete SRAM RED AXS electronic group.
While official weight data is not yet available, considering that the component configuration is very similar to that of the top-of-the-line S-Works Tarmac SL8 model in the catalog, we could say that the total weight will be around 6.6 kg.
Although the catalog version has a price of 14,500€, here you can check the entire range, the truth is that this exclusive edition is priceless.
