The 2027 XCM World Cup calendar is set: five races and the final once again at La Tramun

The XCM World Cup has already defined its calendar for 2027. The third edition of the HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup will again feature five events, spread between May and September, and will keep Girona as the venue for the grand final. The main novelty will be the inclusion of a new event in Riva del Garda, which will also kick off the season.

The XCM World Cup 2027 will have five events and will start at Lake Garda

The UCI has confirmed the calendar for the HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup 2027, a championship that will face its third season with five races distributed across Italy, Andorra, Germany, and Spain. In total, the circuit will add up to around 440 kilometers of competition and 16,100 meters of positive elevation. 

The championship retains much of the structure from 2026 but introduces an important novelty from the first day. The Bike Marathon Garda Trentino joins the World Cup for the first time and will be responsible for opening the season on Saturday, May 1.

The race will take place in Riva del Garda, on the shores of Lake Garda, and will coincide with the historic FSA Bike Festival Riva del Garda. It will be the only completely new venue in a calendar that, from there, will return to already known locations.

This is the calendar confirmed by the organization and the UCI.

After the Italian debut, the championship will travel to Naturland on May 30, where it will compete again at about 2,000 meters altitude in Andorra. Just two weeks later, on June 12, one of the most recognizable venues on the circuit, the HERO Südtirol Dolomites, will take place in Selva Val Gardena.

There will then be a break of more than a month until the Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon, scheduled for July 25 in Kirchzarten, in the heart of the German Black Forest. The season will conclude almost two months later, on September 19 in Girona, where La Tramun will once again decide the overall champions.

La Tramun will continue to close the World Cup after Valero's victory in 2026

The continuity of Girona as the final event is particularly significant for Spanish MTB after what happened in 2026. David Valero won La Tramun and secured the title of the XCM World Cup there, culminating his first season fully dedicated to the Marathon discipline. The Granadino ended the year with three victories and two other podiums in the championship.

The Spanish event was also decisive in the women's category. Natalia Fischer finished third in La Tramun and secured the second position in the overall classification of the World Cup, behind Anna Weinbeer. The Málaga native finished the championship with 1,055 points, compared to 1,400 for the Swiss and 980 for Claudia Peretti.

Thus, the venue where Valero was crowned champion and Fischer climbed to the final overall podium in 2026 will once again have the final word in 2027, with both the men's and women's titles again at stake in Girona.

The organization also maintains one of the particular features of this World Cup: in its events, Elite specialists share the stage with Master and amateur riders, although competing within their respective categories. The UCI considers that the first two seasons have served to consolidate the format and points to the arrival of Garda Trentino as one of the steps forward for 2027.
