SRAM GX Eagle Transmission: the more affordable version of the new system
SRAM launches the new GX Eagle Transmission on the market. The drivetrain that shook the cycling industry at the beginning of the year now comes with a more affordable version that promises to maintain the attributes of the original. The complete group, compatible with T-Type, is available for between 1,150 and 1,300 euros. At the end of the article we attach a table to compare the prices of all versions of Eagle Transmission. Additionally, SRAM has introduced Stealth Bronze brakes to match the drivetrain.
SRAM GX Eagle Transmission: Keeps features but lowers the price
The Eagle Transmission was unveiled as one of the announcements of the year. The derailleur with no hanger and the lightest cassette in the brand's history were behind a drivetrain that has been on everyone's lips ever since. The announcement sparked several chain reactions, such as the possible pinless derailleur that Shimano might be developing.
Now, SRAM presents the GX Eagle Transmission, which pursues the same spirit as the versions that came out in March -XX SL, XX and X0- but with a lower price. The challenge for the American giant has been to manufacture a lower-priced product without detracting from the features that have made the Eagle Transmission such a special drivetrain.

For this reason, SRAM strives to convey the message that the GX Eagle Transmission delivers everything that is expected of it and "with zero compromise on robustness, reliability, or AXS wireless functionality."
GX EAGLE TRANSMISSION DERAILLEUR
Surely the most talked about element at the time and undoubtedly one of the key parts of this system. SRAM reports that it has revised the position of the battery so that it is better protected from possible shocks, although it offers the possibility of replacing various protective parts.
Of course, it is a derailleur without hanger with Full Mount mounting and AXS technology. It is compatible with T-Type and UDH technology frames. In addition, it is made of steel and aluminum and the housing has been reconfigured and mounts without tools.
Price (AXS battery and Pod controller available separately): 480 euros.
GX EAGLE CRANKSET
SRAM calls this crankset a "no-nonsense riders a no-compromise balance of form and function" and explains that the two independently removable composite bashguards add durability and allows riders to manage scuffs and scrapes that come with the territory
In this case, they are also T-Type compatible and are made of forged aluminum with an all-new shape for a tough, robust, and reliable crankset.
On the other hand, the brand has also launched the crankset designed for e-MTB, optimized for assisted pedaling and in lengths of 160, 165 and 170 mm. They also have an ISIS interface for use with ISIS motor systems.
Price complete set: 240 euros.
Price crankset: 170 euros.
GX EAGLE TRANSMISSION CASSETTE
Another of the key components of this drivetrain which, like the versions presented previously, its strong point lies in the good response it offers in the most demanding moments. The more pedaling force, the better it shifts. The 520% range with optimized gear jumps and larger 38- and 44-tooth sprockets is outstanding.
Again the cassette is also T-Type compatible and with a 55 mm chainline. On the other hand, it is nickel plating for a quieter and more durable cassette
Price: 300 euros
GX EAGLE TRANSMISSION FLATTOP CHAIN
SRAM emphasizes the level of durability and resistance thanks to the nickel plating, as well as the Flattop design that provides good shifting performance and the solid pins, suitable to withstand the force of an electric one.
Price: 60 euros
EAGLE TRANSMISSION DIRECT MOUNT CHAINRING
T-type compatible and finished with a unique two-spoke design, it is available in three tooth numbers: 30, 32 and 34. Chainring bashguards can be purchased separately.
Price: 47 euros
GX EAGLE TRANSMISSION GROUPSET
SRAM offers the complete groupset available with 165, 170 and 175 mm crank arms and 32-tooth chainring. In addition, e-MTB groupsets can be used on Bosch, Brose and 104 BCD motor systems.
Price: from 1,150 to 1,300 euros
By way of summary, we compare in this table the prices of the different components of the four versions of the Eagle Transmission, as well as the complete groupset.

New Code and Level Stealth Bronze brakes
SRAM has also taken the opportunity to present a new addition to its range of brakes. After launching the Code and Level Stealth models, they now apply slight changes with a Dark Polar anodized finish to harmonize and match the design with the GX drivetrain.
Code Bronze Stealth
The main new feature is that the hose is closer to the handlebars, so the aesthetics are more careful and adapted to current trends. In addition, it offers standard metal pads that will give you more power and last longer, as well as allowing you to adjust the reach without tools.
Price: 220 euros
Level Bronze Stealth
SRAM offers two options here: brakes with 2 or 4 pistons. In the first case, the American firm highlights the stem designed for XC and the possibility of adjusting the reach adjust without tools.
The 4-piston version, on the other hand, is more focused on Trail and also allows reach adjustment without tools.
Price: 130 euros (2 pistons) and 200 euros (4 pistons).
