A total success at first glance
There is no denying that the new Solace has been inspired by SCOTT's flagship gravel model, the Addict Gravel, but we could say that the aesthetics of the new SCOTT Solace represent everything that this new e-bike stands for.

If we had to define it simply, we could say that the new Solace doesn't look like an e-bike and can easily pass for a modern road bike as well as a gravel bike. The fact that a model offers so many different impressions at first glance, and yet it is able to fulfil all of them so well, can only be due to the design of the bike.
The SCOTT Solace is a new road and gravel bike with a carbon frame, straight lines, generous wheel arches and excellent integration of the electric section. In short: the Solace is a very versatile all-rounder.
The road and gravel versions share the same frame which allows a great autonomy by being able to carry 2 water bottles or 1 bottle plus an extra battery. And the differences between the two come down to the set-ups. The gravel versions are fitted with SRAM 1 single chainring drivetrains, with handlebars specific to the modality and 50c tyres. While the road models come with Shimano dual chainring groupsets, more aerodynamic handlebars and 38c tyres.
Frame and geometry
As we said, the Solace model shares the same HMX carbon frame inspired by the Addict Gravel but has been optimised to integrate the motor and battery while offering a great balance between comfort and stiffness. In fact, despite having a generous space in the bottom bracket to house the motor, the stiffness values of the Solace are very similar to those of the Addict Gravel.
As we have seen on other models, SCOTT has divided the frame of the Solace eRIDE into two conceptual lines, one focused on stiffness and the other on light weight and comfort. The lower frame line, which carries more weight and higher pedalling forces, includes stiffness "patches" composed of more robust carbon layers. While the top line of the frame, where the rider is in contact with the bike, has been constructed with a specific carbon distribution to offer greater comfort.
The frame has been built as compact and minimalist as possible to avoid transitions in the carbon and to achieve the best structural stiffness. This has been achieved, in part, thanks to the TQ electric system.
Its complete internal cable routing system is for both mechanical and electronic drivetrains and together with the Syncros Creston IC handlebars it offers a clean look where only the lines of the frame outline the silhouette of the new Solace.
In terms of geometry, the SCOTT Solace eRIDE is an endurance bike and this is reflected in its relaxed steering angle and longer wheelbase. Again, the numbers are very similar to those of the Addict Gravel, making it a stable bike with large wheel arches.
TQ motor and battery: silent, lightweight and powerful
Once again SCOTT relies on the TQ HPR50 motor and battery system, an option with an unprecedented motor weight/torque of 1.8 kg for 50 Nm. This is one of the most revolutionary and natural motors of the moment.
Thanks to its 8 cm diameter harmonic gearing system, a very compact motor has been achieved, which has made it possible to create lighter bikes with less pedal kickback for more natural pedalling. After testing it on other models, such as the SCOTT Lumen, we can say that it is one of the few that allows you to pedal with it switched off with almost no resistance.
Its power delivery also feels very natural, but one of the aspects in which it stands out the most is its almost absolute silence that allows you to enjoy riding it as if you were riding a conventional bike.
For system control and settings, the SCOTT Solace integrates a minimalist LED display on the top tube that shows basic information such as battery percentage, range in kilometres and which assistance mode is activated. This information and settings are multiplied if we connect our smartphone to the system via the TQ app, from which we have access to configure the motor behaviour in a more specific way.
The 360Wh TQ battery is integrated into the SCOTT Solace down tube and all models are ready to use an additional 160Wh external battery that is simply attached like a jerry can without the need for tools.
The smart TQ system optimises battery utilisation by prioritising the consumption of the external battery when it is connected and making an instant transfer to the integrated battery when it is depleted. In the same way, as soon as the two batteries are connected, the smart charger will give priority to the internal battery and once the charge is complete it will start recharging the external battery. The brand claims that in 2 hours 80% of the main battery can be charged.
Accessories and extras
Both the road and gravel versions have a number of Syncros accessories available that extend the capabilities of the new SCOTT Solace. For example, mudguard kits are available, a Syncros exclusive kickstand can be installed and the handlebars allow the installation of any standard Syncros mount for Creston cockpits.
In addition, the Solace eRIDE is ready to install a set of lights that with the help of the smart connection box on the top tube are connected to the main battery.
