Schurter unveils his Spark Endorphin Special Edition for the World Championships, but hides an important detail

Mountain bike 09/08/23 10:56 Migue A.

As has become a tradition, Nino Schurter will race the MTB World Championships with a special bike. His SCOTT Spark is dressed up with an exclusive finish that this year does not refer to the World Championship venue but to the Endorphin project. The mountain bike that started it all at SCOTT 27 years ago. But this version hides something that we have already seen in the final setup.

The truth is that this is the design with which Nino Schurter will race, but the Spark is missing an important component with which we have already seen him train.

Schurter's Spark for the 2023 World Championships pays homage to the Endorphin

"It's a cool tradition of many years that SCOTT is supplying me with a special edition race bike for the World Championships. This year's theme of my Spark RC Special Edition is not about the country or place we are racing, it's about the legacy of the SCOTT Endorphin. A bike that had caused quite a furor in the early years in MTB sport."

With these words Nino Schurter presented this special edition SCOTT Spark with retro-futuristic details on a glossy black base.

Retro-futuristic details to remember the 90s era
This setup looks like it was only used for photos because it mounts a SID 3P fork (non-electronic) without a locking cable.
The set-up with which he is training in Glasgow already features the RockShox SID Ultimate Flight Attendant 120mm fork in white finish with which several riders are riding in the World Championships.
The range of fluorine colors matches the one used in the new Endorphin project presented at Eurobike.
The complete SRAM XX SL EAGLE TRANSMISSION AXS groupset that we saw for the first time and before it was presented at the last World Championship
The aesthetics and the set-up with the characteristic -40° stem give a very aggressive racing look to this special edition Spark.
Nino Schurter does not always choose this model of wheels for racing, the Syncros Silverton SL wheels are built in carbon block together with the spokes.
Titanium HT M2 pedals in matte black finish
In this setup we see the new AXS controller from SRAM, but we have seen that Nino is testing other configurations for racing.
