Primož Roglič has ended his 2026 season and it is still unknown where he will compete next year. The Slovenian, who is finishing his time with Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, has been in the news regarding the transfer market for months, and now a particularly appealing destination has emerged: Visma Lease a Bike, the team with which he achieved some of the greatest successes of his career.

Visma appears among the teams interested in bringing Roglič back

According to the Dutch media WielerFlits, Visma Lease a Bike has shown interest in understanding Roglič's situation and has contacted his surroundings to explore a possible return.

So far, there has been no report of any formal offers or advanced negotiations, but Visma's emergence among the possible destinations for the Slovenian adds a new chapter to one of the most talked-about transfers in recent months.Roglic sees himself in the

Roglič joined the Dutch structure in 2016, when he was still a relatively unknown rider who had switched from ski jumping to professional cycling. Over the next eight seasons, he became one of the major references in the international peloton.

With Jumbo-Visma, he won three Vuelta a Españas, the 2023 Giro d'Italia, and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, among many other races. However, the rise of Jonas Vingegaard and his consolidation as the leader for the Tour de France ended up changing the distribution of responsibilities within the team.

Roglič decided to leave for BORA-hansgrohe in search of a project that would allow him to continue aspiring to the Tour. Three years later, his possible return would mean reuniting with a good part of the structure that took him to the top.

However, circumstances have changed. Visma still has Vingegaard as the main reference for the Tour, while Roglič would face the 2027 season at 37 years old. His incorporation would raise questions about the distribution of calendars and leaderships, although it is still early to speculate on what his role could be.

Several teams have emerged as possible destinations

Visma is not the only structure linked to the Slovenian's future. Lotto-Intermarché was one of the first teams to appear among the interested parties. Roglič himself acknowledged during the season that he had held conversations with the Belgian formation, although that did not translate into any announcement.

Information has also emerged linking him to Pinarello-Q36.5, Tudor Pro Cycling, and XDS Astana, teams that could find in a rider of his experience and palmarès a leader for the grand tours.

In any case, the absence of an announcement does not allow for determining the real status of the conversations. Roglič could be negotiating, have already chosen his next team, or simply be waiting for the right moment to communicate his plans.Roglic will do Giro and Tour in 2025, will we see Pogacar in La Vuelta?

Roglič himself has not ruled out retirement

In addition to the uncertainty about his next team, there is another question that the rider himself has raised: the possibility of retirement.

Before competing in Il Lombardia, his last race of 2026, Roglič acknowledged that he was still considering the option of leaving professional cycling, although he also expressed his intention to continue competing.

His sporting performance does not seem to be an obstacle. This season he finished second in the overall classification of the Vuelta a España, behind Enric Mas, and was crowned European time trial champion. Two results that demonstrate that he still has the level to compete for major objectives.

The Slovenian also hinted that achieving a fifth Vuelta a España could have been the perfect closure for his career.

Not achieving it keeps the possibility open for him to return in 2027 to try again.
