Sebastian Fini wins a complicated Fullgazrace full of favourites in the German mud
Sebastian Fini and Caroline Bohe win the Fullgazrace 2021
Despite Coronavirus, the season continues to progress and fortunately top level races can still be held, although with the usual security measures and without the public. A large number of the best European XCO riders travelled to the German town of Obergessertshausen, including the current world champions, Pauline Ferrand Prevot and Jordan Sarrou.
The 4.2 km circuit had no technical areas but had some snowy sections and what made the race more difficult was the intense mud along the whole course.
You only have to take a look at how Sarrou's Specialized finished to get an idea of how tough the course was.

In the men's race, Danish duo Simon Andreassen and Sebastian Fini led from the first lap, but a flat tire from Andreassen left Sebastian Fini alone in first place from start to finish.
Sebastian Fini won, after two ninth places in Spain and Italy, the race with a 37-second lead over the Swiss Thomas Litscher. The podium was completed by German champion Max Brand, who won the national title on the same circuit last year.
In the women's race, another Danish rider, Caroline Bohe, took the victory. After an attack with two laps to go, she finished 30 seconds ahead of Switzerland's Nicole Koller and 57 seconds ahead of Anne Tauber.
