Radical change at Eurobike: new dates, control center, and in search of major brands
The bicycle industry has already started to make moves for 2027, and Eurobike has just announced one of the most important changes in recent years. The German fair will change its dates, clearly strengthen its professional orientation, and also modify its internal organizational structure after months of consultations with brands, distributors, and associations in the sector.
Eurobike moves to September and strengthens its professional profile for 2027
The organization of Eurobike 2027 has confirmed that the 2027 edition will take place from September 1 to 3, definitively abandoning the usual June dates. The decision comes after an extensive consultation process involving manufacturers, distributors, workshops, associations, and professional visitors from the cycling and electric mobility sectors.
According to the organization, the majority of the industry clearly favored September as the most suitable time for the event. The conclusions were drawn from nearly 50 interviews conducted with key players in the sector and a specific survey on dates, duration, and structure of the fair.
The new advisory board of Eurobike, composed of 15 senior representatives from the industry, workshops, retail, and associations linked to the world of bicycles and light electric mobility, held its second meeting on May 19, where the main lines of the new fair model began to take shape.

Return to B2B focus and pressure to regain major brands
One of the most important changes will be the strengthening of the B2B profile of the fair. The organization thus acknowledges the need to reconnect with the major brands in the sector and regain some of the industrial weight that Eurobike has been losing in recent years.
The declared objective now is to enhance areas such as technical services, workshops, professional training, new mobility solutions, innovation, startups, and actions aimed at increasing international media reach.
The physical distribution of the event within the Frankfurt fairgrounds will also change. Eurobike will occupy the eastern area of the Messe Frankfurt complex, using halls 3, 4, and 5 around the Agora, the central outdoor space that will allow for expanded testing and dynamic demonstration areas.
Additionally, the Forum and the historic Festhalle in Frankfurt will serve to host parallel events, networking, and activities for partners and professionals.
The organization has announced that the final concept of Eurobike 2027 will be officially presented during this year's edition.
Messe Frankfurt takes operational control of Eurobike
The announcement also comes with a significant business move. Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH will now take control of decisions regarding Eurobike within the joint venture Fairnamic GmbH, which has been shared with Messe Friedrichshafen until now.
With this change, Messe Frankfurt will concentrate on the strategic and operational management of the cycling fair, while Messe Friedrichshafen will focus its efforts on the development of the aerospace exhibition Aero.
This decision represents a significant step in the internal reorganization of one of the most important fairs on the international bicycle calendar, at a time when the sector seeks to redefine the role of major in-person events after several years of changes in the industry.
